OK so I know the subject is WWN, but I did some pre fishing on Sat for the Sang Proof with Flake. I purchased some American Baitworks Zoo stuff (2 boxes worth) for this up coming tournament before I broke my Bobbys Perfect I rod 704. Apparently the Roush doors didn't like the tip[ stickin into there space

Now Flake hardly ever leaves his comfort zone in the South, but imagine my surprise when he agreed to check other water. No open water with this guy, everything has to be duckweed or nothing. So I take him to a spot where I've caught them be fore and within the first 15 minutes I pick one up about 2 1/2 on a zoo frog. Flake picks up his frog and we're off. As we round a corner, there it is........just what he's looking for and sure enough there are fish there. We catch 2 more in 2 very active spots (we did not hook blow ups). Good to know. As we leave the slough of course the wind is blowing 20+ and we're headed up the main river when of course he soaks us. Good thing I had my bibs on, but my feet are squishy. You ever try to concentrate with squishy feet?

Anyway we found some good areas no one from UFC was fishing so we'll see how it turns out tomorrow.
So, on to WWN. I figured out the clue to being in the front.......leave the barn at 7;00am. Get Roush gas, get the boat, get ice and boat gas and head up highway 4. Arriving a little after 10, Dale is the only boat there.

WOW, I'm #2.

So I unload my gear from the Roush and place it in the boat. (prior I would do this at Rivers End, but this was an experiment to see where I would be in the line. Somethings gonna happen. A few minutes later several other boats show up and the POW WOW has begun. We sat around chatting about the Ninth Circuit Courts recent decision , when Pops shows up around noon. Waiting for Dennis and Jake to arrive with the grill, Upon they're arrival, John pulls out these 2" round hot dogs. Nothing but the best for the POW WOW crew. I volunteered to take part on week 5 from now, only problem is there are only 4 WWN's left.
So Stickbait shows up and after loading the boat we discuss where to go. Lousy tides I'm thinkin. Spot 1 Nada. As we're leaving I notice I don't have my sun glasses on. I come off plane and start to look around......feeling the top of my head I'm freaking out. Thoses are my $250 costas. Stick is asking whats wrong. I tell him I lost my glasses. I'm wondering if I they dropped off my head while putzin with my electronics. Stick says "WHAT?" I say I lost my glasses. Now even though stick is wearing sunglasses himself, I can see he has a real puzzled look on his face, like what the heck is he talking about. I tell him again I lost my sunglasses reaching for my face. (now here's where you have to weigh old folks mentality when they panic.....I was panicking) Stick yells THEY'RE ON YOUR FACE!

I could feel them each time I put my hand to my face, but it never registered that they were there. YIKES!

Now relaxed we were off to Spot 2. As we are pulling up, there are not 1 but 2 wakeboats in the area next to the tules. 1 guy filming and the other doing his thing. Only problem 1 boat is like 1 foot from the tules and away they go and blow out the entire spot. Well that sucks. We try it anyway and this is where I catch my PBSF. (for those uninitiated PBSF stands for Personal Best Small Fish). As the photo will show, the crankbait that this guy attacked was bigger than the fish himself. Had it been a live fish it could have turned around and eaten him. Notice the size 6 treble in his mouth. So that was 2 chuckles we had on me that night. All in all we dumped our fish and drove back in the 20 mph gale. Stick told me it was a very comfortable ride, and I explained to him it's not the boat it's the driver.

(I just watched a Dustin Connell video on his Ranger and as an experiment drove it that way and never stuck a roller...........this time.
Congrats to all those guys cashing. Even though the boat count was down it still took 17 1/2 to cash.
So onto the Snag Proof!
