After the whipping Korny put on us last year, I think most us will wait, before we have to eat our words or pull our feet out of our mouths....

I will approach this year with a different strategy than last year, you can either just go fishing or the win....HeHe and I'm not saying which way I'm going until I hear from Sieg

I hear that he's on that same bite he had last year, using a frog on a dropshot rig, in 50ft of water, on 4lb test line, near Lakeport....

I'm going to throw a crankbait in Horseshoe and try and beat Mac's oddball record....he had a 12lb catfish off the back of my boat last year..this year I'm going to try and break that...

Jt's got it right, there are two different approaches. Me, Ijsut showup and fish and enjoy everyone's company, which is darned easy to do with such good folks. Then again, you can run all over the lake, spend a ton of money on gas and oil and sweat and chase down the win if you like. Either approach is completely acceptable, but I like the laid back deal. I might never get the chance to sniff out TopNut that way but there's always all those other nuts to shoot for in the event.

I fish the Rally for the fun and comraderie. I don't look at it as a competition. Though I will work hard to make sure my draws catch some fish...It is hard enough work being a NumbNut

If'n I should by some alignment of the planets, I end up with the Top Nut or Big Nut, I know the fella upstairs is smilin' on me :D My biggest challenge will be fending of ole NumbNut Jonathan trying to pass his award off on me  He was actually dumb enough at Oroville to want to get in my boat :?

I am with sTony, I go to see old face's once or twice a year and just have fun and enjoy the fishing/food/raffel, etc. By some odd chance I might get one of those plaques, but that would just be cream on the top as far as the nutcase/wester rally is plain fun in it's self. See you all there. Bill K :)

I am feelin the love already

Man I wish I could be there - I will be in NC working until Aug. 1, so no Rally for me this year.

I guess I'll just have to settle for stirring the pot in here and watching the results get posted on WB.

Ya'll have fun and HubSpinna, tip a brew for me!

Looks like we'll be zig zagging across the country at close to the same time Gator. The Rally ends on July 30th and that night I catch a red eye flight to Birmingham AL to join up with our states Jr. champions in their quest for the FLW/TBF National Jr. Championship and then a slew of meetings leading up to the FLW Championship.

As far as Rally SMACK is concerned I was wondering why the guy that started this thread still seems a bit intimidated about bringing his nice shiny Skeeter boat to the Rally and instead of opts for the non-boater ride. Heck I was a boater in this event long before I even had a fiberglass boat, hahaha. Some guys just wanna get a ride around the lake I suppose. Is that your deal Conser or what, hahahaha. You afraid to take the wifey out for a nice cruise of beautiful Clear Lake or what?

Wait till Jenny gets a hold of you! You will be lucky if you can fish at all. Nothing like having a woman pissed at you. Every time I see her here at the Delta she has a new devious plan to exact revenge on you for your execution of the bananna curse on her last year. I almost feel sorry for you....

than pissed. She wants to get more than even. And she has accused me also of that caper. Only guilty by association. I have to avoid her at the 100% tournies for fear of being pushed in the water. Just the look she gave me made me shiver. She mentioned that you Dewayne, are her partner this year in the get even scheme. I wonder what you guys are up to. Good thing my boat will not be parked at the docks. See ya there, maybe with a peace offering.

than pissed. Awe come on Angel, more than a little pissed off? Really, I think you are taking this banana thing way too serious. I mean it’s just a banana, who would be upset about having a nutritious yellow fruit on their boat? I was just teasing about revenge when I saw you at the last 100% and you know, Seig.. he's got his guardians. Really, don’t sweat it dude.

Speaking of yellow fruit.....

Post by Kelly Ripa »

I lost my alternator and went from 2nd to fifth in a heartbeat on day two and yet It wasn't yellow at all as I remember finding it's mumified carcus in my glove box about 3 months later. Revenge is best served cold Jenny! If you need help or just want to heap it on give this SoCal boy a shout. I won't be the only SoCal boy this year and it would be extra on the sweet should one amongst us do a tad better than 5th this year. I still say Nico Owes me for keeping my mouth shut about his monster swimbait fish from last year but a deals a deal verbal or not I kept my promise and got a what I consider "even" trade for the information :?:

Maybe I should buy some Chiquita stock

Not that I would have ever done this to anyone. But one could use a Biosonics unit with a sound track of feeding otters hidden in a persons boat.

Or removing the head of their trolling motor and switching the black wire with the red wire.

Or cutting the line on all their reels about 10 turns into the spool.

Or crushing red egg dye tablets and adding them to their bottle of live well additive to dye their fish pink.

Or placing small plastic pre-fish tubing over their hook points on tournament morning to make their lures fishless.

Or cutting a hole in the bottom of their net.

Or placing a "I love Gary Dobyns" bumper sticker on their truck.

No, I am not a vengful person.

But watch out for Jenny!

With all this talk of revenge you'd think we were holding linchings up there at the rally. Truth be told is most guys follow me around on the water from spot to spot up there which is why, being the extraordinarily nice guy that I am, I have to always ease back and let others catch the big bags.

Johnny is gonna learn the hard way that everyone fishes the dam up there, we all like it throwing sissy baits over 100 of feet of water. He'll be at home with us as anyone knows him well knows reputation for big fish that would also fit well ina sardine can. Just kidding a JC.

Make sure you bring your tide book as the you really shouldn't even bother to wet a line until the incoming tide gets going.

And definitely look out for the famous Clear Lake sharks, rock cod and alligators. They're easy to hook but tough to land.
