Dumb Question...

Post by Quantum_Kid »

Is there a differencce between a Palomar and a double Palomar knot?
If there is, how do you tie the double? Or is there a better knot?

Thanks in advance,

Yes! I use it for brade 50# or less. You do a regular palomer, but when you tie your over hand knot, put the loop through the hole twice.

I was wondering the same thing. I wish you would of asked the question last week. I broke down and tried some 30# Power Pro, on my first cast I hooked up and proceeded to loose one of my favorite frogs. The knot slipped and I had tied a single palomar. I glued the next knot down, I 'll try the double this weekend.
I had to come back...I know...

I don't know what happened CJ. I have never had braid break on me, unless I got it tangled in some rocks.

I know where that fish lives, when I catch it tomorrow hopfully it's still got my frog in it's face :D .

I is a college graduate-Opps I mean I am :)

Sometimes my fingers and brain are not on the same page. I hope my supervisors aren't reading this-it is appraisal time and I need a big raise to pay my entry into the FLW Series.

Hey Jim, Guess who's back in Southern Cal. E-mail me when you get a chance.

PS-I even have a MA in Educational Administration. If I can graduate from college anyone can :)

Well Cooch I was planning on it BUT

Post by rickyshabazz »

Well, unfortunately not….

The job just sent (relocated) me back to Southern Cal last weekend, for good, and I've got an entire house to unpack and I am sitting in an airport on my way to Southern Cal as I type.

If the boat was in Sacramento, which it isn't, I would have been there in a heartbeat. I never pass up an opportunity to fish the Delta with a youngster but the sheriff (my
wife) overruled me on this one.

Next time. I see the importance and support what you’re doing and I had every intention on signing up until life threw me a curveball.

Bones, You are probably wasing at lease 50# Power pro? It is hard to use that knot with the bigger line, but if you are using 50# or less, It is money!
