hub question

Post by mjr »

kinda feel a little embarrased for asking this, but how much is too much when it comes down to greasing your hubs. my trailer has sealed hubs so i have heard to be carefull and not overfill them or they will be ruined. is there any good articles out there about maintainence of this kinda stuff? i just dont wanna be 3 hours from nowhere and have hub/ bearing failure let alone anything else.

If they are bearing buddies, you pump the grease and as soon as the cap moves, stop.

In general you don't want to overfill, and only use a hand-type grease gun as you can damage the rear seal. Like Mick said if you pump in some grease and see the outer cap/ring sart to move out, then that's probably enough.

And don't be afraid to ask questions! The only dumb or embarassing question is the one you don't ask!
