Amador Info

Post by Dom »

My Family and Friends are headed up to Amador this week (Fri-Mon) for a camping trip. It's been a couple of years since I have been on Amador just woundering what the fishing is like? I remember night being best and Black Berkley Power Worms c-rigged use to get em at night. Any input would be great. Cant tube or ski on Amador so gonna be alot of eating,FISHING and swimming :D

Thanks

Well if you could you should try to book a trip with Gil of Gil's Guide Service. If you can't though you should look at the wall of tackle they have at the lodge I'm pretty sure Gil orders all the stuff they have on the wall so all of it should work. I was up there 2 weeks ago and the fish I was catching were in about 20- 35ft deep(remember to bring a needle to de-gas the fish). I was using brushhogs, dead ringers, and other creature baits on heavy footballheads and brass and glass. I caught some really nice fish up to 8 pounds :D working the baits really slowwwwwwwww!!! hope this helps.

Hey Dom, I was there about a month ago. Throughout the day, I would see schools of small bass chase shad to the surface, you would see nothing but top water commotion all over the place, we caught a few on spooks. The frog bite was ok in some of the coves with a little bit of slop in the corners. Did not have any luck with catfish or trout.

Thanks Bryant and Porkrind man I must be loosin my cloute , Only 2 responses? whats up yall? LOL Anyway Looking forward to some revenge 2 years ago Troy,Jeremy, and few other friends camped out there and we had 3 boats so we split up in teams and had alittle 2 on 2 on 2.

Troy and me were fishing the back of a cove right before dark I was throwing a black BUZZ Bait and a HAWG just hammered it I had power pro on and fought this thing to the back of the outboard I could see the fish clear as day it was HUGE! just under the water it was viscously shaking its head back and forth right at the outboard and my Buzz bait about hit me in the head when it popped loose the monster lazliy just turned and swam straight down! I was hart broke! Yep time for some REVENGE! LOL

Just wanted to say thanks again to Lyle had to run out there today becuase my outboard was just cutting out in a matter of min. Lyle found the problem a wire from the coil was rubbing on the flywheel so it wore the insulation off so it was shorting out , a pieace of electrical tape and she was runnin as good as new ! You that man Lyle Thanks buddy!

If any of you nut cases are at amador this week end look us up we shouldn't be to hard to find just look for the group HAV'IN TOO MUCH FUN  (I know no such thing LOL)

We had decent luck earlier this year on watermelon seed brushhogs and black w/red flake Super Hogs. We also caught a bunch of fish on dropshotted Margarita Mutiltor Roboworms. We caught most of our fish on points with lots of weeds. I also picked up a couple of nice fish on a crappie swimbait.
