On my lamiglass XCF665s and XCF705s rods, I use 15lb floroclear made by P-Line for my lipless baits.
If you're a casual fisherman, I think that you need to determine how much you are willing pay for the line when it comes to selecting a line. You'll get a lot of opinions about the brand and/or type of line to use on this site, but do you want to pay $8-$10 for a 300 yard spool or $15-$20 for a 125 yard spool?
Like all of the fishing gear that you buy, what you can afford will probably drive your decision.

It depends on what you are doing with the bait, and the size.
Ripping through weeds: Spider wire or 20lb floro. You need low/no-streach
Open water, weed lines, and rip rap: 12-15 lb p-line or big game. I like the streatch factor with trebble hooks. That is one school, another is to stick with the braid and hammer the fish.
1/4 oz - 8-12
1/2 oz - 12-17
3/4 oz - 15-20
1 oz and up - FOR GOODNESS SAKES DON'T USE LESS THAN 20LB TEST!

Don't be lame. It's just fishing; you are not the new mesiah you know! Check your attitude at the door Mr. Spinners on da boat trailer.

I use anywhere from 12 - 15lb Fluorocarbon with my current favorite being 14lb Sunline Shooter FC when running Lucky Craft LV500Max's.

For the delta (and Clear Lake), I've been strictly using 15# fluorocarbon. I use the Cabelas Proline Fluorocarbon ($25 for a 1/4 pound spool) and it's been holding up very well. Similar to Seaguar, but I think a bit tougher and perhaps a bit more wirey. Up to 15#'s has been fine. I've not tried heavier than that.

Mr. Skeeter is right. Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops flouro is the way to go.

30lb braid. Rips through the weeds with ease, and can handle them pesky stripers should you hang one. Someone above said "if you are rippin through the weeds" I would say if you are not in the weeds you are not going to be getting the quality fish so forget the flouro you are cranking these things fast any way. During our last tournament my fishing partner was releasing a fish he had caught on his rattletrap with braid and the lure was in the water about 1 foot down and another fish grabbed it. The water was pretty clear too. Delta fish are not line shy, they never have been and they never will be.
I would rather jog home from my own Vasectomy than spend Saturday at the mall.

30 -50 lb Power Pro - for braid
15 lb big game green - for mono
The braid will last all year and the big game is solid as they come. Try it with senko's also. Best all around line on the market.
