Russo's from San Jose

Post by rexford »

Can some one give me directions from San Jose.
I have never launched here before. Would Vasco
or 880 be quickest?

Thanks,
Mike

Vasco....

Get into Brentwood and take a right on Balfour...(first stop light)

Go thru 2 stop lights and the 2nd 4 way stop is Sellers, take a left...

Go thru 3 4 way stops (Chestnut, Sunset, Delta) and you come to a stop light, Cypress, take a right...

Take a left at the next stop light (new intersection), not the blinking yellow light at the gas station...

Follow into Bethel Island and go over the bridge, stay in the right lane...

Right lane ends, take a right (Gateway I believe)...

First road past the gas station on the left, take a left.. (you'll see the signs)

Road goes straight and ends at Russo's...

Looks like the shortest way is to take 580 to Vasco Rd North up through Brentwood to Oakley/Bethel Island. Lots of turns to make through the farmland and narrower roads.

I think the quickest and least confusing way is to take 680 North to 4 East through Antioch and into Oakley. Turn left on Cypress, turn left on Bethel Island Rd, turn right on Gateway then a left at Piper Rd. Russo's is at the end of Piper Rd.

It really depends on if yopu are towing a boat or not..If you are towing I would recommend Ken's route, if you are not, then the other route is quicker..It is not quicker if you are towing..

I've taken both the afore mentioned routes and would definitely recommend the latter - going 680 to 4 exiting in Oakley. Just be aware that 680 can get congested depending on your hour of departure.

There's a faster way that I take.

Vasco rd past Camino Diablo. At the first fruit stand make a right which is Marsh Creek rd. From Marsh Creek Rd make your first left onto Sellers rd. Take Sellers all the to E Cypress Rd where you make a right.

This cuts off quite a bit of time going throug Brentwood and with the exception of 1 small stretch the speed limit is at least 50 MPH.

Do a google map search for "Marsh Creek Rd and Walnut Blvd, Brentwood, CA" to find the intersection I'm referring to.

I take the same way as Vince. You can even turn earlier also at the first light, but i dont know all the street names from there.

Just remember those are all 2-lane, kind of narrow farm roads.

Yes and there are plenty of cops that patrol that area. This is also a good shortcut to Holland Cut as well, just make a right on Delta Rd. Note there is also quite a bit of fog this time of year just getting to the launch ramp especially when the grounds start to get damp.
