Next duty station: New Orleans

Post by TomAtkeson »

Hey guys,
I just wanted to fill you in on a little news. I have gotten orders to Coast Guard public Affairs Det. New Orleans. Thats right I'll be going to what is probably the second best tidal bass fishery in America. Im pretty excited to go and do what I can to rebuild N.O. in the four years I'll be there. Oh and not to mention catching some bass in my spare time ;)

Fantastic Tom..After 4 years there, you should have an excellent idea of how and when to fish the LA Delta..Good luck on your tour..

When you go catch some shallow water redfish, you just might not fish for bass anymore as long as you are there. Seriously.

I heard the redfish are fun. When I was in Charleston at the Federal Law Enforcement Accademy I went to the Charleston Aquirum they had some redfish in a open tank on one of the sun decks. I picked a piece of straw and wiggled it on the waters surface. Several times they hit it and took it right out of my hands....insane!

Congratulations, Tom, on what should be a great assignment both professionally and for your fishing.

Thanks for serving!
