O.K. ladies and gentlemen... You have awakened a sleeping jaw-jacker.

To whomever it may concern: "It isn't over 'til the fat lady sings" and I haven't heard a peep yet! I don't know how you can be predicting who will be AOY when we are only 3 tournaments into a 7 tournament regional championship. I'm relieved that I no longer have to call Dionne Warwick to predict the future because I can now get all my info from the experts on this website. I don't know how many of you out there have ever played varsity, college or professional sports but here is how it works. The one holding the trophy at the end of the season is the champion. So for all you wizards with your crystal balls, tell me how how Tommy Thompson (oh my bad!) Jimmy Johnson was able to come from dead last to win the Nextel Cup Championship? Or how the St Louis Cardinals came from nowhere to wander off with a trophy full of gold flags? If team tournaments are the minor leagues, I assume we all aspire to play in the big leagues. Fortunately for me, I am going to try to play with the big boys and unfortunately will not be able to fish all the tournaments in our region. There are certain people who when they win a tournament I would like to shake their hand and congratulate them but they are too busy shaking their own hand. A humble winner receives more recognition and appreciation than one who runs his pie hole. Believe it or not, I like to see different people win. It is good for the sport and I like the look of triumph on their faces. Try to remember Dale's face at the K-FROG tournament 2 years ago. It's hard for me to get motivated to go fish in a skateboard park with 2 vert ramps for structure and to share sandwiches with the guys in the boat fishing next to me.

I don't like to talk trash before or after tournaments but when we move over to the bigger pond, It's "ON" and thank you for adding fuel to the fire! Before we go to the bigger pond, we have one more X-game at the skateboard park. So, boys and girls bring all your new Christmas boards and trucks one more time (and lots of sandwiches to share with your neighbor)!

Glad to see we have another donkey to add to the barn.
Nobody is predicting the future, nor, eliminating other teams from the chase...anything that has been said is based on the how the season has shaped up thus far. And thus far its been a 3-4 pony race... Theres no doubt that another 2-3-4 teams can contend by the end but that is yet to be seen.
You are right...its too early to predict who the AOY is gonna be. We have 4 events left including one on the "skateboard park". But hey.......didnt we already fish 1 event at the "bigger pond"?? You should have fished that event...it was a blast. In fact...you should have fished the last two at the "skateboard park"...they were fun as well.
Seriously though....you are right nobody in the top 10 is out of the points race yet...but...for the teams that are down the list....its the point in season where they need to start picking up the pace and closeing the gap on the front guys because nobody will be able to make up a 15+point gap at the last event.
It should be interesting.....

...in the 15+ years that I have been running tournaments, I have had only one wire-to-wire AOY winner, and that was Carol and Aaron Martens. My AOY races are always decided at my final tournament every year. I mean absolutely no disrespect to the top one or two teams, but I would be very surprized if either one of them hang on to win it.

There is no doubt in my mind that if you and Kyle are able to fish any of those 3 DV events you guys will be at or near the top at each event. I have nothing but respect for you guys and your success at DV. Hopefully the opening of your new store goes well and you guys can make it out there and shake up the standings some. Dale and Derrick will be tough to beat..but we are gonna give it hell.

Don't worry Pete, just put in your homework at DVl and you and Guy will be fine. That is a good region with lots of talent. We are getting ready for a tough stretch at DVL soon, as I remember Guy and Jason winning one last year about this time with just 13lbs. The 12lb option might have its day still @ DVL. Rick G.
