I found out today that a construction worker fell 60 feet to his death while working on a scaffolding at the north dam at Castaic a couple of weeks ago. This tragic accident put everything on hold for about a week. As a result, the lake will continue to drop (approximately) 9 inches a day until January 8th (roughly seven more feet). The lake will then be held at that level for approximately two weeks and it will then begin refilling slowly (or so they say).
That's the latest I've heard.

That's terrible. My condolences to the family. here's never a good time for a tragic accident, but when it happens around the holidays it seems to bring things into sharper focus.
My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

The fishing is actually very good right now...
