Best advice....go to Oroville and fish waterfalls all day. Throw chart spinnerbaits and crankbaits, or darthead the main lake in 5-10 ft of water. You will catch alot of fish and have a blast. Folsom may be good for about 5 bites per day right now.

I agree with Damon, I would head out to Orroville. We had a club tournament on Folsom on Sunday out of 15 boats there was one limit wieghed, 3 boats blanked, 1 boat had 3 fish and the rest had one fish.

You can find fish and bait but they are extremly tough to get them to eat.

I was out at Folsom about a week ago caught 7 fish dragging football head jigs brown head 3/8 cinn/blk flake hula grubs. Had about 5 other fish come off. drift, and drag, go really slow. The fish were in 25 to 35 feet. Good luck.

I have'nt been out for two weeks. The water has come up looks like 10' in the last week. That's a lot of water and I'm sure the arms are muddied up.
I think Oroville would be a better bet as well, good luck with what ever you decide.
I had to come back...I know...

Right, the lake is up about 10' and rising the South Fork is muddy with debri. I haven't talk to any one going up the North Fork as I work at Browns Ravine, but the lake is definately on the rise. Now if our illustrious powers to be dont panic and let it all out again It should stabilize in the next few days. Wooch had it right as he fishes there almost daily . :)

I don't bother with Folsom anymore. Even tho I live closer to Folsom than any other lake, I'd much rather fish Oroville, Shasta, Delta, Berryessa, or Clearlake. After many trips on Folsom (since 1989 when I moved here from Chico), I have come to the conclusion that I hate the lake. It has potential, but all the lake lice (skiers and ski-doo's) kill it for any decent weather fishing. I have been out there in the summer on a calm and windless day with three-foot swells from all the lake lice. The lake is not managed properly and the fishing suffers as a result. And before I get flamed, Yes I have put my time in on Folsom and pulled some 4+ spots and black bass into the boat. And I have also fished Folsom for salmon and have managed to catch them to.

I recommend visiting Oroville.

The only way you will get me out on Folsom now days is if I have to fish it for a tournament circuit.
Do it like no one is watching...

Fished folsom yesterday, and got nada. Not even a bite in 4 hours. The lake looked like chocolate milk. But I do have to disagree Nipples. ( love that name) Folsom is an awsome lake at the right times of the year.

Hey Nipps,
I got to agree with you about all the skiers and traffic.
It's not a bad producer but my pet peive is the wake board boats are to much. They are even way up in the five zones tied off and crankin' their music ten or so deep. If I wanted to go to a dance club I'd be there instead of fishin'. All that being said, it's really close to my house and it's nice to go wet a line for a couple hours without driving more than five minutes.
