The guy on top weights about 187 pounds. The guy on the bottom ate too many Crispy Creams. He probably goes 204 pounds.

They both weigh 4 lbs.

On Uranus, they weigh 17.27 kg

On the Moon they weigh 7 oz.

Then why did you say so - bragging rights – that is a lot better then a prize!

My guess is:

LM = 4.1 lbs
SM = 3.15 lbs

2 oz different.

Lets see Jim using your body weight in combination with your estimated cranium dimensions , entering that all into the Bass -O- Graph I come up with

LM 5 lb 10 oz

SM 3 lb 4 oz

I want to thank all of you guys who posted their opinions

Post by Jim Conlow Sr. »

I sometimes have difficulty judging the weight of a fish, More so when it is a picture.

I think the largemouth looks smaller in the picture than the smallmouth, but the scale called the largemouth 5.87 and the smallmouth 3.19.

John Gray my great and knowledgable guide for the two days stated that there are no Forida strain Largemouth in Trinity Lake, he said lthat they are all Northerns and they want it to stay that way. Back in the late 70's I knew many people who would take a 5 to the taxidermist. 5 lbs was a trophy. That 6 is the biggest Northern strain that I have ever caught.

I did not count them but on Friday I dont think that 10 to 15 minutes didnt go by that I didnt catch a 3 to 3,5 pound small mouth. The action was truly hot and heavy

John Gray also says that there are no spotted bass in Trinity and he sincerely hopes it will stay that way. They have a great population of Large and Smallmouth there and the spots would decimate that population as they have in other lakes.

For those of you who have never been there I want to warn you that there are literally thousands of underwater hazards in that lake. Either hire a guide like John or run at about 5 miles an hour with some one spotting for you on the front deck. There was an extensive amound of gold dredging in the Trinity and there are dredge tailings all over the place in the least anticipated places. These Hazards are not marked in any manner, it would probably bankrupt Trinity county to put out enough bouys.
It is a long drive but well worth it for the quality of the fishing. I guarantee you that I will be going back many many times in the future.
By the way there is a great tackle shop in Weaverville called Dragonfly Outfitters I broke my Okuma swimbait rod up there on Thursday and when I stopped by to ask him how the warranty works he just went over to the rack and handed me a new one. Thats the kind of warranty that will keep me buying their rods. :D :D :D

By the way I want to add that I didnot catch these fish

Post by Jim Conlow Sr. »

I did not catch them because I am a great fisherman I got them because John Gray, my guide, told me what bait to throw and whaer to throw it.

It was a great and fun two days and John is a great and fun guy to fish with, I think he had more fun watchig me catch them than he would have had if he was catching them himself.

Jim, even if you didn't catch a single fish you just spent some time on a lake that is in no small sense a slice of heaven..I spent some time up there with Joe Kopp and I have never fished in any area with more natural beauty..Other than Alaska, that is..
