Blue Book for Bass Boats

Post by brushhogxxx »

How can one tell how much a boat is worth?

I have a 2005 Ranger 185VX DC, with a 175 Opitimax.

I looked it up on the nada guide and it was 18 to 21,600. DAmn these boats depreciate fast. You can look for yourself at:

I'm selling my 18 too.

So what are you planning on getting Lance?

I'm still looking to decide. Like you it has to fit in my garage. My Skeeter fits nicely but I want to go a little bigger.

Buy A three 3 car garage! My 206 with the 250 fits but takes up the whole 3 car. I also have to put the hyd. jack all the way down to get under the garage door(old garage doors not roll up). if you have A roll up door it should make it no problem!I thought I would have more room but it just barely make it in the three at A angle..

Thanks for the NADA report. I'm not selling, but needed to find out what she is worth. Looks like around $32,000 with all the bells and whistles. $7000.00 a year (minus). paid $46,000. Wow.

I dont know what I can get for my boat, something around 28-29. Its in mint condition and well taken care of, we'll see.

Mark, I did manage to get a Triton 20x2 in the garage today, it went in without any problems, clearing the garage door by 4 inches, this was good news. But trying to move a dual axle......thats tough. I might be checking into a electric dolly, I hear those are the poop.

I will be fishing up coming AC night turney with Dan the man, hopefully I can be net boy again

Shine on the power dolly

all you need are two go-jacks. Makes moving the boat just like a single axle.

There are ratchet geared trailer dollies that are used to move big travel trailers. Check out an RV supplier. I moved a 30' trailer with one for my friend.

I checked the internet for the chain drive, crank activated dolly I used, and couldn't find any. Maybe they're not made any more. I used one back in the 70's.
Too bad if they are discontinued. They were great. Worth finding if they're still made or available.
I know someone who has a really steep, windy driveway, so he put a hitch on the front of his Hummer and drives his boat up the driveway with it. Maybe that might work for you to maneuver in your garage. You could probably get a tongue extension made by a welder so you could maneuver a little easier.
Just an idea.

Lance,
I have a Power Caster PC-2 and it works great. I have a Ranger 520 and a 21 1/2 foot deckboat. Both trailers have tandem axles and the device moves them easily.

I have a sloped driveway, so I use my vehicle to get the boat to where it's almost level, then use the Power Caster to shuttle the two around behind my garage. There is a new option, that wasn't available when I bought mine, that can be hooked up to your braking system, if you have electronic brakes.

Check out the website: www.powercaster.com

PM me if you want and I can give you more info.
