Where to get trailer changed to swing away in Folsom area?

Post by Lookin4Bass »

I recently purchased a new(er) boat and in the interest of preserving the back wall of my garage I need to have the tongue converted to a swing away.

I don't feel that the 3/8" of leeway I have now is quite enough, especially with my wife's limited and inconsistent directing skills.

She seems to confuse "keep me from hitting anything" with "find a spot where I can't see you and yell sketchy directions from there while making it clear you have better things to do".

Can anyone recommend a good trailer shop on the highway 50 corridor say from Rancho east? Needless to say I'll travel farther if needed.

Thanks,

Peter

Peter,

I don't know any trailer places along the Highway 50, but DHM Trailers at 7609 Wilbur Ave can handle your needs. They are in the southern part of Sacramento in the general vicinity of Gerber Rd and Hwy 99. Their phone number is 688-7767.

Thanks Norval.

I recognize your name from the BBC owners gallery. I'd been looking at a Triton FS but ended up buying a 2004 Stratos 190FS in Phoenix over the weekend.

The Triton was in Tennessee and expensive to transport. Beautiful boat though.

I'll contact DHM.

Peter,

Congratulations on your new boat.

Traveling back to Tennessee to pick up a boat would definitely add a little bit to the overall purchase price. It would have been a great opportunity to make a vacation out of it though. You could have taken your time going back and seen the country and then used the boat to "fish" your way back to California!!!

I bought my 190FS from Galaxie Marine and talked about going back to pick the boat up at the factory to save the transportation cost. But, the time needed and the lodging, food and fuel costs were greater than the savings. Plus the boat would not have been completely rigged till it got to the dealer so that would have prevented "fishing" my way back home.

Call Marv's trailers in Rancho. They're between Sunrise and Hazel on Folsom Blvd, closer to Sunrise, on the north side of Folsom. They've done good work for me in the past, they stand behind it, and they are fast.
