sandmound slough
sandmound slough
What are some recommended launchs that make the sandmound slough area easily accesible. I have a small tracker and prefer to stay away from franks cuz the winds, So other than russo's are there any none crowded marina's near the sandmound, piper, taylor area. thanks

Russo's Marina is near by and a very nice facility. I think the launch fee is 10 bucks. Just a short jog to Sandmound from there.

Doh!! I guess I should read the posts better.
Sorry...I only use Russo's when I launch on that side of the tract! Maybe Cooch will let you launch from his back yard LOL!

Re: sandmound slough
sugarbarge is closer to sandmound than russo's..... as is lundburg but I don't care for the wood ramp there
Re: sandmound slough
There is a launch ramp right on Sandmound if right before the bethel island bridge. I haven't used it, but I have idled by it and used their bathroom a few times. It's 10 bucks. I think its called sunset or sun something. Seemed nice, but it puts you right into the heart of 5mph zone, for better or for worse.

Take a kid fishing, and don't forget about us older kids either..
Sunset Marina!
Come out Cypress like yer heading to Bethel Island, take the last right just before ya cross over the bridge. It's down about 400 yards. It will put ya right there on Dutch Slough, easy access to Piper, Sandmound and Taylor. Be aware though, with the recent west winds, there really isn't as much protection back here as one might think, unless ya wanna camp on the docks, and that bite ain't so spectacular due to the algae boom coming from the back of the dead end in Sandmound! The best bite in Sandmound, is still out on them islands in the South Bowl of Franks! There is not enough Perrywinkle or Hyacynth either, so the punchin bite is not here yet either. The rock levee wall out back along Holland Tract is getting pounded with boats, what they don't realize, is the best bite on that levee wall, is after 10:00pm to 2:00am at night! HAR! HAR! HAR!
Good luck!
