Cameron Rods

Post by Jack Thompson »

Anyone know what's comparable, (on the market now), to the old Cameron rods? I'm interested in getting a couple of new rods and could use some advice. It's been a couple of years but I'd like to get back into fishing some events again. (Not that I was very good at it).
Thanks,Jack

Wow, Jack. I just noticed your post and it is quite similar to my post looking for Buff Hendricks rods. I have never heard of Cameron rods...but can I assume they were a small line of custom wrapped type rods?

Cooch is a Cameron guy, he should be chiming in at any moment now... <standing by>

I believe Steve Biecham wrapped Coochs rods to Camerons specfications, but I will let him confirm.

finding a Cameron rod today is a tough search.

As SOBC mentioned, Steve has worked with me on cloning the Cameron jig rods with the same Graphite USA blanks, used by Cameron. Give Steve a shout at http://WWW.StevesCustomrods.NET, tell him yer looking for one of the Cooch's Jig specials.

I'll give Steve a call. I already have one of his crank bait rods which works great! I spoke to Steve about a year ago and he was working on getting the mandrel for the Cameron 664 which was what I was looking for.

Thanks again, Jack
