Battery powered navigation lights?
The receptacle for my front navigation light isn't getting any juice, the stern light is and it works fine.
I removed the switch panel and found no loose connections on the navi light switch. Rather than tearing things apart in an effort to determine the problem I'd like to find a battery operated front (red/green) nav light that fits into the existing port.
Does anyone know if such a product exists? I haven't been able to locate one on the internet.
I hate to resort to a small led flashlight and duct tape but...

The only one I know of is the flashlight with the red and green lens, from BPS.
You might just have a corroded socket. They are easy to change (I did it).
A continuity tester should tell you if you have power to the socket.
If you do, you may have a bad bulb or light, both of which are cheap to replace.

Re: Battery powered navigation lights?
Mark,
Thanks for the suggestion but after failing to get any voltage at the socket (on a voltmeter) I removed the socket and tested back to where the socket plugs into the source wire(s). Still no juice.
I'll check out the BPS red/green light, it may be just the ticket.
Thanks,
Peter

A lot of boats have a rocker switch,1 for anchor and 1 for navigation.
make sure you have the right one on.

I have the same exact problem. '01 ranger and 2 of the 3 pins in the front don't work. One of them works because the small light on the rear of the new light I just bought works but not the main bulb for the red and green. I'll have to test it tomorrow.
I've been trying to find a replacement for the flashlight, green and red lens, and duct tape also.

Sean,
Thanks for the link. The red/green led is exactly what I was looking for.
With the clamp I'll be able to use the existing light pole that fits into the receptacle.

You can find both battery operated bow and stern lights at either wal-mart or target. They are a C-type clap. I've used both lights on my 14 foot and the bow light on a buddies Ranger on the delta, they work get.
