I filled up my batteries like I was supposed to with distilled water. They are 2 month old Trojans. Water had really evaporated. Stupid me, didn't charge them before I filled them and water expanded and spilled out. They water expanded during use with the trolling motor, not during the charge. I lost maybe an 1/8 of an inch from one yet the cells in one battery are over filled by a 1/2 an inch.
I don't have a hydrometer to test but was thinking of taking the batteries in to where I bought them to get checked out.
Can electrolyte be replaced? Could the batteries have been harmed? I always charge them the minute I get in the door and disconnect when their done.
Your thoughts are appreciated. Sounds like I messed this up good.

Re: Battery Maintenance Question
I would definately get them checked out, preferably with a load tester. I obviously don't know where you purchased them but, I have had great customer service from battery systems. Charlie Evans is the local rep 1-916-997-2327. Give him a call. I'm confident he will take care of you regardless of the circumstances.
