If we felt it here than I know someone closer to the epi-center got it worse. hopefully no one is Hurt.

Even though it was a 5.6, it was very short in duration..It sure woke everyone up at the resturant I was in..Lots of initial panic, but before anyone could make it to the front door, it was over..Epicenter was in the Alum Rock area of San Jose, only about 5 miles from where I was..

Felt pretty long to me. I'm in San Jose & the reports around here are saying 15-20 seconds. It was like floating on 2 foot swells. Just kept rolling. Pretty crazy.

I was in the Cambrian area, and didn't notice a lot of rolling, at least not anything like the Loma Prieta quake..I would say it lasted maybe 10 seconds, at least that is what it felt like here..I am sure in other areas it may have lasted longer and even had more rolling..I haven't felt any of the aftershocks, and I have heard there were plenty of them..I guess it just depends on where you are or were at the time..

For all you first timers just chill and go with it , don't fight it , it will sense your tension , I go outside and lay on my back in the driveway , depending on the type of motion and intensity it feels pretty good , you know like a good massage

Rockin' Bowl at HarvestPark baby!

Post by Cooch »

Ah it was a good one! Was at the bowling alley leaning up against the counter, felt a big BANG! Yo Tom, you alright? I thought he bumped into the table, as he walked past and up onto the lane ta bowl, all the score screens just started ta rock and roll back and forth, lasted about 15 seconds here in Brentwood! Next thing ya know, 250 people all breakin out the cell phones!

Quakes are coool, wouldn't trade em fer the perils of the rest of the country, Fires, Tornados, Hurricanes, they can have em!

We did not feel anything here in Loomis, but we sit on pretty heavy granite rock. I have felt them before ( heard them too) when I lived in LA. Would make a roaring sound as they rolled under the house. I have heard them come from Pasadena and roll on out to the San Fernando Valley.

Now those fires are something to be scared off. We have friends in Fallbrook that hope to go home today and see what damage their home took.

Yep, worst one I've felt, here in Danville.

I panicked for a moment, as my 85 year old Dad is visiting here in Texas; I was worried about how he'd react. We were talking when it hit - he looks at me and says, "Earthquake?". I say, "yes, that the strongest one I've felt".

He says, "Huh. I've felt bombs worse that that." He then proceeds to tell me about an accidental explosion at his air base in England when he was in WWII.

I guess some things are relative. :)

Yeah, I was sitting on the thron reading my fishing magazine when my home started to move around me. Been through many more earth quakes, those of a higher scale but never want to be sitting there reading the Bass West Mag while my home moves again.
