Anouncement - NFR

Post by ash »

Fellow Nutcases,

As some of you may know I my wife and I have been in the process of adopting for the past year.

Well last night we met our new children for the first time, we are adopting a brother age 7 and sister age 5. While going through our "family book" I showed my son to be pictures of me fishing and he just LIT UP - I said do you like fishing, I LOVE FISHING. Really, cause I know this guy who has a big fishing boat a bunch of extra rods and reels and goes fishing a lot.....YOU, to myself I said no son it will be you and I, I was stoked to have a new fishing buddy!

We are all happy, anxious, and excited about our new family.

Thank you my friends for your well wishes.

Jonathan, those that are close to you know how much of a battle this process has been for you and Lynn and are so happy for you to see it finnally come to fruition. I can't think of anyone who deserves this more than you two, those kids have no idea how lucky they are to have fallen into your care, I know that you will be a great father (parents) and having a new fishing partner will make it that much easier. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We look forward to meeting your new family, happy holidays.

Jonathan

That is great news! It takes special people to adopt older children, and they end up being the ones who benefit the most from the process. They will have a great dad, congrats.

We should get our girls together for a play date, and we can talk fishing.

Congratulations to you and your wife, Jonathan. The only thing better than fishing is to take your kids fishing! You and your wife have embarked on an adventure, the likes of which you can't imagine. And there's no perfect book on parenting...it's all OJT! But when its all done and those kids become adults, there's no better feeling than seeing them become parents and apply some of the things they learned from you. Child rearing has its difficulties and they are all worth it! Good luck with your newly expanded family!

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

There are not enough of the proper descriptive words to say how really great this news is..Both for you and your wife and for your new family..It takes a very special type of person to properly raise their own children, let alone being willing to raise those of another..They are yours now and I have no doubt they will soon grow to realize just how fortunate they are..But knowing you I would say you are the ones feeling fortunate..What an absolutely fantastic thing to do..CONGRATULATIONS , Mom and Dad..

Thank you all, I appreciate your kind words and support. This has been a crazy weekend and we are all excited. I have always been grateful for Westernbass.com as a community and these messages strengthen that gratefulness.

We are excited and have seen glimpeses of behaviors that we need to address immiedatly, but nothing that love, consistancy, and time will address. My son is excited about going fishing, where would be a good place to bank fish for whatever? I was thinking about Comanches trout pond...

That is awsome,

I would check out amador near camanche for trout this time of year. They have 10 plus pound trout in there, and this time of year if you can get up to were the water is coming in from the creek anchor and throw panther martin #6 black yellow dot, Kastmasters in brook trout and pointers, yo- zuris, rapalas. My hunting buddy Garry showed me a picture of a 50# plus stringer he took out of there before he passed away a few years back. I have never hit it at the right time of year, but it is between now and christmas when the water is really low and the fish are stacked in that creek mouth when the rain water is blowing in. I have nailed 12 # trout in there but not 5 of them in one day. Bank fishing is good there to from the dam, they are cut-bow trout and they raise there own fish. I know it sounds like a fish story, but it is a really good lake.

Jonthan,

Conrats to you and Lynn on your new family. What this means to your kids, they wont be able to tell you, but I'm sure you'll see it in their eyes. A loving home and a firm foundation, two of the greatist Christmas presents those kids will ever recieve. Great job Bro, glad to call you and Lynn friends.

Hmmmm the little man likes to fish, he has a good Jig teacher, I'm sure he'll be a force to contend with in a few years.
Friendship is like peeing in your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.
