Curado CU200dpv or Revo STX

Post by Brian »

Need to get three more reels. Have about 15 Curado's. Thinking about trying the Revo. Any Opinions?

Brian,
What kind of gear ratio are you lookin for? If its a 6.3:1 then the Revo STX is the way to go. Mainly because the New Curado only comes in 5:1 ratio and a 7:1 ratio. LOL. If your lookin for a 5:1 go with the Curado because I dont think Revos come in that ratio. If they do, go with the revo. And the 7:1 again Revo! I personally think that the Revo is an all around better reel then the new Curados or even the old curados!! I hope this helps!!

I have both reels and in my opinion my Revo STX is a superior reel. I also have Daiwa's and Calcutta GTB's and prefer the STX over all of them

my 2 cents

The Curado is sligtly heavier and feels larger. This might be a factor depending on your application. If value is important you might consider the Curado since its now $50 dollars less. I won an STX and did compare it to my first 200 for a few nights before trading it for another Curado. Side by side the Japanese manufactured Curado felt better then the Korean made Revo. IMO Their both above average and would be satisfactory for most anglers.

Revo...no question! I sell these reels at Fisherman's Warehouse and everyone I have sold an SX or STX to has been very satisfied. Check the SX if you want to save money. It is $150 and to be honest I cannot tell much of a difference between it and the STX. Good luck!

Or you could go to Mel Cotton's web site and print out the 20% off coupon good on anything (almost... no Shimano) and pick up an SX for $120 ! Includes a line fill!

Not affiliated, just happy to have picked up the real at a great price today.
