Callville Bay, NV 1-19-08 – After seven years without a win on the WON Bass Team Circuit, Tim Myers along with his new partner Jesse Milicevic broke the curse and won the WON Bass Team Tournament at Lake Mead on Saturday. Facing bitter cold temperatures at launch time Meyers and Milicevic held off three of the best teams in WON Bass to gain their victory.
Myers and Milicevic post a surprising weight of 12.72 lbs., to beat out runner up and last years top team, Knudsen and Walls, buy a little over half of a pound. With the cold weather most of the anglers who pre-fished reported few if any bite in the days prior to the tournament. A 12 lbs limit on Lake Mead regardless of the weather, is quite an accomplishment. Included in their bag was a kicker that weighed in at 3.52 lbs. Unfortunately as at the December tournament won by Evans and Landerman, Myers and Milicevic also failed to enter the big fish option and lost out on a nice addition to the first place winnings. Myers and Milicevic also beat out two other top teams which included John and Tammy Morrow as well as seven time Anglers of the Year Branscum and Duncan for top honors.
Running a close second was Marc Knudson and Ron Walls. Knudsen and Walls also weighed in over 12 lbs of bass. Weighing 12.18 lbs. Knudsen and Walls also had a nice kicker that weighed in at 3.00 lbs. even to take the big bass option for Ron Walls.
Over a pound back in third place was John and Tammy Morrow. The Morrows had a good day with a limit that tipped the scales at 10.83 lbs., with a big bass at 2.81 lbs. I asked Tammy if they had a chance to pre-fish the tournament, she said, “No we didn’t. The last time we fished here was the last tournament in December.â€
