This just came across my desk as the Santa Barbara County Parks Dept is going to be placing ads with this new information. This is directly from an advertisement they will be running in Western Outdoor News. Frankly, with the ramp still closed, all may be a mute point, but this is what will be in place once it reopens.
Notice to all boat owners seeking launch access at Cachuma Lake
The Santa Barbara County Parks Department Announces new inspection protocol for all boat owners seeking launch access at Cachuma Lake. To help prevent the introduction of Quagga and Zebra Mussels, ALLboats will be subject to inspection, treatment, and/or quarantine before being allowed to launch at Cachuma Lake.
** All boats and trailers must be clean and dry
**All drain plugs must be removed prior to boat transport that day
**All boats longer than 24 feet will be quarantined on-site for 14 days before being allowed to launch
**All out of state boats will be quarantined on-site for 14 days before being allowed to launch
**All California boats with registrations or addresses near known infected lakes will be quarantined on site for 14 days before being allowed to launch
**All boats and trailers will be thoroughly inspected and treated by a hot pressure wash per the interim boat launch protocol posted on the Cachuma Lake website at www.cachuma.com
Sounds like they just eliminated every bass event except for local clubs to me.

It appears that they are at least taking a step in the right direction to work with the boaters, unlike the CMWD board. I don't like the idea of quarantineing a boat for 14 days at the lake. That can get a little expensinve. The wash is a good idea. I'm in!

Does anyone know what 140+ degree water under pressure will do to the gel coat of our boats or the transducers? I don't, but it does concern me a bit. I know we all want to fish these lakes but at what cost? If anybody has an answer can you please post it, thanks.

Hopefully the person that does it will be trained, he could blow the Cf #s or the registration # off the hull and then you will not be allowed in because you don't have your registration up to date, sounds OK to me with the pressure wash but I think if they don't see anything on the hull or trailer they should just do the clean & dry inspection.
Make one cast for me.

Dwayne, You probably need to call the boat manufacturer for FIRST
HAND reliable information. We have an H2O wrap on our boat, this
is the same company that wraps many of the pros boats, they told
us that our wrap could NOT be power washed! 140F is pretty warm. This issue and alternative methods for disinfection need to
be addressed. There are alternatives, and there is no need to damage expensive equipment!

What do they consider "near".
If I lived next to Matthews........15 miles away, would I be quarantined?
