I spoke to John and the official rules will be posted this afternoon. As you can see he doesn't spend a lot of time on this site anymore but he wanted me to convey some of the info for him. As soon as the rules are decided on, he will post them. The live bait issue has been one of tougher rules to decide on since we are normally not allowed to use it during traditional formats.

If anyone has specific questions about any of his tournaments, call him directly. Work is crazy and I seem to be the only one with time to check the site on a regular basis...

DL and I finshed the rules about an hour ago.
There is 1 fine tuning point that John will address but everything else is done.
This will be a fun event and I hope you all come out for this one.
It is a bit different than most of you are used too but this is for everyone not just the tournament guys.

Live bait of any kind is not legal to be used in this tournament!!!!! DFG tourmanent permits prohibit it.

There is your answer guys :D

Mike, what about the saturday trout derby? is it powerbait, marshmallow, and rooster tails only? or can worms be used. Forgive me but I have only fished one trout tournament and we were allowed to use worms...

Hey Brian...

...I heard that the live trout bite has slowed considerably, but they're really chewing on kangaroo rats and quagga mussels.

(Sorry Mike – I couldn’t resist).

DL: The trout derby you can use any legal bait you want. The fish don't have to be released so the same rules that apply for bass tournaments don't apply to trout derby.

Kevin: I don't have to worry about you using live trout for bait from what I heard you couldn't even catch one in the trout tank at the Fred Hall Show. so how are you going to get one at DVL. Beside the game wardens check out this site and they know who you are and will be watching behind every bush.

Ron C: the Kangaroo Rat bite died a month ago but the catfish are WO on mussels.

Kfrog said they are not garuanteeing a boat thiswas up to upscale productions. all they were garuanteeing is the 1000 an hour. So I guess no answer and rules a few days before a tournament nice. another Upscale production. I asked the live bait ? along time ago. now its answered no .
