Six inch huddleston

Post by Rich reeser »

I got a couple of the 6" hud's and took one out to throw it a while. I noticed it list a little to one side. Is this a problem, are they supposed to do this? It does make it appear to look a little injured. No matter how slow the retrieve it does this. Is this normal, should I exchange it, keep throwing, just curious, about you thought on this.

I got some of the 6in Huidds and not really impressed with the action even with straight ones like mine. There are better out there in 6in for sure. The 8in...Thats different. Hudds are it.

If you are not happy with the bait (any bait) send it back.
Ken stands behind his baits.
I like the 6" baits. They work fine for me. Just hit fish on them yesterday :D

Im not 100% positive on this but didnt his first batch or two have an occasional flaw in them, like the hook wasnt in the mold straight or something? If thats the case then no amount of heating or boiling of the tails will fix the "crooked swim" Like Don said, if ya dont like it send it back to Ken. He has good customer service and will stand behind his product. I am in no way shape or form bashing Ken or his bits, I think what he makes is awsome!

I bought two of the 6" baits, and I don't think they have as good an action as the 8" baits. The 8" look totally real when coming to the boat, but the 6" don't appear to swim nearly as well. On another note, I bought some of the little hud minnows and they run and swim awesome.

I picked up a couple also, one swims fine and the other one leans to one side when it swims. I was wondering what I need to do the fix it?

Thanks,

Kicker :?

I wasn't too impressed with the 6" at first, now I love 'em! You need to break them in a little. The first time out they didn't have hardly any tail action. Now they swim awesome! The tail has a nice kick as it falls (swims) to the bottom. The bait looks great and swims just like a little trout. Also, your bait swimming a bit on its side could be a good thing. Remember big bass like an easy meal and if the bait is swimming on its side, that may resemble a dying or injured bait fish. Just something to think about.

Ernst "anyone using the eyesurrender wraps ?"

You have to check out the lure wraps that Berserk Baits is making, awesome selection. Some have felt lining for baits like the lunker punker, plus all of his stuff is lifetime warranty. www.berserkbaits.com

I'm not as worried about the swimming action, as it works fine if you slow it down, but I did notice that they tend to fly to one side or the other when you cast them, at least in my experience... they don't seem to cast true.

Regardless, I've caught some nice fish on them, so I won't be giving mine back any time soon!

Try pushing your knot down to the bottom of where you tie on, this should correct the problem and it should run true.

I will try the knot thing, however does it help to fish with a clip on the front like the shell cracker?

Thanks,
