My Son's PB

Post by survivor »

:D It was just under 8lbs. Jim had a banner day, he caught fish on worms, kreature baits, flukes, rattletraps and poppers. Jim caught over 25 fish, he even beat me. Jim won't be able to fish for quite awhile, due to his upcoming cancer surgery, so I'm really happy he had a great day on the Delta.
He even caught his PB, she was just shy of 8lbs. It was quite a thrill for my son, after I netted the fish, he had to sit down he was so stoked up. The best fish were caught on the Smalley Beavers in the Hematoma color on a 1/4 oz. bullet wt. and a 3/0 wide gap red hook. Fished mostly sparse tules and the weed line in 2' to 10' water temp was 67 degress. All fish were pretty feisty and all were released alive and well.
Get out to the Delta now the bite is great. Take a look at Jim's PB,

That is the way to go Jim..There are not a whole lot of things that will put you in such a good frame of mind as an awesome catch..I know you probably are not looking forward to your surgery as much as you are looking forward to another fishing trip..My thoughts and prayers are with you..Get it done, get well and get back on the water..

Nice fish Paul! Congrats to your son, and I'm truly glad that you were able to share that day together.

Hope you are doing well and best wishes to your son on his surgery.

I have to say that yesterday was one of the best fishing days of my life! I couldn't have spent it with a better fishing partner. I knew I had Paul on the run when he put down his favorite shakey head rod and started throwing a crankbait. :D I am kind of a spaz when it comes to fishing and I don't stick with the same technique for very long. Yesterday everything I tried caught fish. The fish gods were smiling on me... and that big fish was just icing on the cake. I have a few more days to fish before my surgery so my PB is hopefully temporary. Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers. Look for me on the water around July I'll be in my brand new red Z520 thanks to the help of Mike Van Wagner and my wife telling me that you only live once so get the best.

You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

What a thrill for your son... Give him a high five from me and my son!!

We'll also include you guys in our prayers, but I think the thought of getting back on the water will do him wonders in his speedy recovery!!
