Couple BassBoat Questions...

Post by N.A.R »

How long does it take to fully charge batteries on an average?

Do you use "the pink stuff" everytime out?

What do you use on you cowling?

Thanks In advance Tony

the batteries... depends on your charger.. i normally plug mine in the second i get home and they are all green by morning..

pink stuff every time on the trailer... i believe tom makes a cowling cleaner as well.. I use wonder foam on the cowling. I hear Tom Phillips makes a great cowling cleaner too but I have not tried it.

good luck.

Wax your cowling w/ meguiar's. Easier to clean. Don't armorall your pedistal seat though. I did that and went to Silverwood on a rough day and next thing I know I'm lookin up at the sky and hit the deck like a sack o' potatoes

Bass Boat Saver cleans and protects the entire boat even protects it from UV rays. Makes the boat really shine too.

Just plug in as soon as you unhitch your boat...Any decent charger will have 'em ready by morning..if not sooner...

Pink stuff is the ONLY way to go...Slick...And smells good

I use a degreaser on my cowling...think its the bass pro brand...works nice..

Last Friday,,,,I prefished at Piru (very windy day) till 2pm then Castaic night tourny then back at Piru for R7 tourny on Sat. I charged for a couple of hours in btwn.

Got home at around 6 pm to plug,,,by the time at around 11,,,checked the batteries before going to bed,,,,all 4 were green.

Optima batteries are good and very dependable.(not sposored)

I 2nd Ron's statement about Peregrine stuff. They both have boat and cowling (hard water spots),,,even comes with 2 microterry towels and can't beat the price. (not sponsored either)

The Stay N Charge battery management system works well for tournament boats where towing time is over 30 minutes or run time on the water with the big engine 10 minutes or longer. The system uses the tow vehicle or big enginen charging system to keep all the batteries fully charged.

This stuff is brand new to the market (made locally) and I'm not sure which retailers are carrying it, but you can give Roger Larocque (the company president) a call at 818-967-8170 and he'll get you some ASAP.

If they don't already carry it, I have to believe that Anglers Marine soon will, as this stuff is incredible. (Dennis Taylor is on the Anglers Marine pro staff and he swears by it; and he is the most anal guy in the world about having his boat spotless).

Here is their website: http://www.peregrine250.com

PS: In no way am I suggesting that the Pink Stuff isn't good. It most certainly is and Tom Phillips is a great guy. But I just gave this new Peregrine 250 a try and I really like it. As Kevin Shin mentioned, they just released their water spot remover formula last week. I haven't used it yet, but I'm betting that it is every bit as good as the Peregrine 250.
