Re: Online tackle shops
I think theyre the same. CL outdoors by Kellsyville is one of their branches to. I order from them, and besides, Tacklewarehouse doesnt have hudd or 3:16's. how does that happen?
Re: Online tackle shops
The old owners of TW sold the business two years ago, if I remember right. Maybe it was last year. I think the same guy who owns TW owns BTD. If I remember right, the reason TW doesn't carry 3:16 or Huddleston is because of conflicts between several of the swimbait makers. But TW carries Rago, so that's why I think Hudd pulled out, once again if I remember right. Don't know about 3:16 though. I like USAC, not a fan of BTD because the site is never up completely after the start of this year.

yea i remember reading about that. but i have not heard anything in a while about l.b.f.
Re: Online tackle shops
www.deloscustomtackleshack.com is a good place and Ca residents don't have to pay sales tax. Free shipping over $75 too. Tackle Warehouse is not owned by the same folks as BTD or USAC ProShop. Tackle Warehouse and Delo's has the best customer service of anywhere I've shopped. Another good place id BaitDomain.com.
Oh Well,maybe another day!!!

Re: Online tackle shops
Hey BMX Thanks for the good words it's MonsterFishingTackle.com
MonsterTackle.com is in Australia somewhere -- If you buy from them, you'll get your stuff in about 9 weeks - give or take!
But from us - it's 1 day shipping ANYWHERE in CALIFORNIA.

Re: Online tackle shops
Mark Mendez owns basstackledepot.com, usacproshop.net, swimbaitnation.com, Bass West Magazine, Oroville Outdoors, and the Angler's Choice team tournament trail. There are probably several other fishing related businesses that he owns that I am not remembering off hand. Maybe him or Tom will post the companies he owns. I think the business model is self-explanatory (vertical integration, drive sales from the magazine, tournament organization and websites to the tackle stores etc).
Tacklewarehouse.com has nothing to do with Mark Mendez or his companies. Tacklewarehouse.com was originally a partnership between the owners of tenniswarehouse.com (one of the largest, if not the largest, online tennis retailers in the world) and Pete Skarda who (at the time) owned Wilderness Outfitters in Arroyo Grande.
Pete is no longer with Tacklewarehouse. Rich Zeilenga manages the warehouse and the large percentage of ownership is by tenniswarehouse.com. The tenniswarehouse.com model is to leverage their expertise in online retailing to sports-related retail businesses. They own racquetballwarehouse.com, inlinewarehouse.com, icewarehouse.com, and runningwarehouse.com among others.
Hope that clears things up for you Brian.

Re: Online tackle shops
I didnt know that (Basstackle depot & Us Ac pro shop)were owned by the same guy until the other day when i was looking where to buy some Voo-doo chatterbaits a brand i really like .
I buy most everything 95% from Tacklewarehouse they are great and i really like the people who work there and the shipping is great ! Excellent service
The other two places above I dont care for . What really pissed me off was when i order some baits for a tourney and have them sent from Oroville to their Clearlake store and they jack my baits , and i find a note in the box sorry we are out after the guy at the other store packs them in the box and guarantees them to be there .
I sent E-mails to the owner Mark Mendez several times with no reply to get the baits that i still havent got , I will only ask a couple of times and then they can just keep them even though i paid for them with my credit card . I have heard the guy doesnt really care that much about pissing people off its all about the money , I just say it like it is and sometimes it rubs people the wrong way .
Thanks Rob (Swimbait) for explaining it all to me !

Re: Online tackle shops
Hey Brian, If you are going to try and trash me, why not give me a call, Your supposed emails are just that supposed.... I am probably one of the easiest guys to reach there are. My cell number is posted all over and my office number. My cell number is 408 396 8442 my office number is 800 360 7112. It is ashame you feel the need to put down websites to push other sites. Lastly you don't know Sh...... about what it is all about. Tell that to the thousands of repeat customers we have across the U.S. with all of our sites. Lastly you do not know a thing about me and have never even spoken to me. Grow up !!!! What a shame to see this type of b.s. floating out here. The great freedom of speech we have on forums are also it greatest weakness.

I think what it all boils down to gentlemen; is there are men and women out there who own businesses (entrepreneurs) who are simply trying to feed their families. It's that simple. Why all the negativity?

Re: Online tackle shops
Personally I like to hear about good OR bad experiences with companies I may choose to do business with. The response from Mr. Mendez answers no specific issues brought to the thread from more than one customer. I am sure he is relying on employees to serve thousands of customers as he states. He may not be aware of issues within his organization. If his companies have service problems it would be better to see a response that states his concern to resolve rather than attacking the customer. If I was to do business with this company I would be afraid of the same treatment and disregard for my issue. Add to it more than one customer with issues? Sounds like Mr. Ruthman may not be the problem maker Mr. Mendez believes him to be.
Re: Online tackle shops
Hey Robert, I also would like to hear about good or bad experiences with any company and especially mine. I value all of our customers in any business I work in. Mr. Ruthman has not spoken to me or attempted to speak with me. Our business is open 7 days a week. It is a very reachable business. As a business we make plenty of mistakes, but it is less than 1 in 100 on shipping product. When a customer calls with a problem it is professionally and promptly dealt with. I have owned my own companies for over 30 years and go out of my way to correct any issues. A simple phone call results in 99.9 % of any problem being corrected. In regards to no specific issue, Mr. Ruthman has not had order online with www.usacproshop.net or basstackledepot.com in over a year. So why not just pick up a phone and tell somebody you have a issue, not try to make a personal attack on somebody you do not have a clue about. It does not seem that tough to me.

Re: Online tackle shops
I would just like to add that from time to time every company can screwup an order........I personnally have purchased a ton of tackle from all the Online Stores mentioned...and yes there were some screwedup orders...HOWEVER, they were ALL taken care of by cool heads and great customer service...I have been able to personally talk to Mark in the past and I came away with a great feeling as to his commitment to customer service....If something is wrong he will standup and make it right...
When Tacklewarehouse screwed up an order it only took one call and they made it right...
Both companies mentioned have bent over backwards and shipped direct to the motel I was currently staying at, " that bait I just had to have overnite"...you can't say that isn't great business...When one of Mark's stores didn't have the item I " had to have "they called another store and found it for me..
Keep up the great service guys...........

Re: Online tackle shops
OK guys, It looks like the original posters question was answered, and this thread took a swerve. Mr. Mendez came on here and offered Mr. Ruthman his personal contact information to clear up whatever disputes they have mano e mano
With that said its time to lock this one up.
