I have the 487vs which is the single console. I love it. It handles rough water great. I have been in skeeters, not sure what models and I think the ranger is a more comfortable ride and handles rough water better.

488v for sure. One of the best hulls Ranger has ever made. Not fast, but certainly a smooth and safe ride.

The Ranger would be a smother ride than the Skeeter because it a heavier boat its also deeper than the Skeeter but to me all boats are rough it just depends on the driver. As a co-angler ive been in just about ever bass boat out their its all in the driver and let me tell no such thing as a dry ride etheir.Just pick the one thats right for you.

i dont think you can go wrong with either hull.... i have the zx200 and its a great boat, i have ridden in the 488 and its also great rough water hull... is there a age difference in the boats? and what are the prices.

488 will probably come with the Mercury opti or efi, the zx200 will probably come with the Yamaha... if the 488 has the opti that would be a plus rather then the efi. The yammie is a strong motor i have the hpdi and its great (other then the fact that i had to replace the power head, yammie replaced it for free even tho it was 5 years outta warrenty).

Ride in both and if you can fish from the front, see how stable the boat is... its not all about how fast the boat is but how stable it fishes.
