what is your favorite night time bait?

Post by Ray L. »

since there are so many night events I was just wondering. This might help some people out as well.
Mine is a black and purple jig with a 6in. yamamoto twin tail grub trailer.

Most night tournaments start before dark, so during the low light sun setting time period I prefer fishing with reaction lures like crank baits and buzzers. Once the sun is down and darkness settles in, I tend fish the black soft plastics with either blue or red highlights, black pig & jig and fish the reaction lures occasionally, if the bass are active.

Brian what..

Post by CORYMDISPENSIERO »

Brian do you possibly have the link or site where I can find that bait online? You don't always catch'em but a bright strobe light, good boom box, a couple BABY EE,glow sticks and a loli pop always make for a good evening.

I'm with Ray here. Big black jig with a big trailer. Usually 1/2oz at the least. I like black and red more than anything else at night. My favorite trailer would be a Brush Hog. I've fished Beavers, DT grubs, everything, and the Brush Hogs just seem to produce more fish for me at night. A big worm or lizard is good too, and DLNs do well on a reaction bite for me, as do buzzers and dark colored blades.

I think Tunaman might have the better bite here guys 8) .

Reaction: buzzbait...Eating: biggest blackest Power worm they make 10"...I wish they made it bigger  ...Whatever I am doing I have supersized the whole blueplate special just so it's just a one stop shop kinda thing for the girls. If they want Bob-Bon's any Yamamoto bait and a hook will do.

Yep... ain't seen nothin' until you've had a nice 150#+ mako start ripping drag in the middle of a moonless night on your 60# rig... :D highly advise it for the adrenaline junkies out there!
