Tournament Time

Post by texas john »

I have been honing my skills for a while now and "think" I am ready to give it a go at some local tournaments, Co-Angler of course. I just would like some insite and information as to what I need to do to be eligiable and qualified for the events. I read a post on here about a month ago as far as Co-Angler rules/responsibilities as suggested by you guys. Now im looking to add the other part of the equation. Where do I go, what do I do. Thanks to all who respond. :D

Go to the find a partner page of this web site. Scroll down to the bottom and there is a list of tournament organizations. Click on each of the links to see if they have pro/ams and their schedules.

FLW does, Anglers choice use to, WON, and 100% do. Among the many others.

The Angler formally know as Tule Bender
Just call me Tule bender

What Bill said, and go into your first tourney with a positive attitude. Don't expect to do well, it will take the pressure off you. Do your homework, and be prepared. And the most important thing is have fun.

Thanks to you both!!! I pride my self on my reaserch and attitude. But like most anglers when you go out and are not on the fish that can change pretty quick. I am up for it, just need to have someone give me a shot so I will be able to prove myself.

Thanks again!!!

I fished non-boater and co-angler for five years before moving to the front. The thing you have to realize is there is a big diffrence between them. A non-boater draws a pro and you fish as a team. This is great for a lot of reasons, 1 he wants you to cath fish,2 he will help you any way he can, and 3 you can win and not even catch a fish. Co-angler is where you fish for your own fish and you fish against the other backseaters. The non-boaters are the pro-ams such as WON, anglers choice, and hopefully westcoast bass. The co-anglers are FLW and the bass federation. There are all types of price ranges from 80.00 to 700.00. I hope this helps you out.
