Good story. As long as he has faith in GOD he will make it back stronger than ever like the baseball player Josh Hamilton my new hero.

Re: who needs coffee?
dude,
I am no psychologist, but man that article sure paints a depressing scenario and seems like a classic case of "manic depression". Super high's, crashing lo's, loss of life, isolation, denial, lonliness, etc.
i dont personally know Art, but surely everyone here on the left side "knows of him" and has been around him at one tournament or another.
Art, if your out there and listening, "I certainly wish you all the best, my friend, and hope you get everything deserving out of life. Keep the faith and stay positive."
Best of Luck,

Re: who needs coffee?
I really admire him for sticking to his dream. Not many people have that much dedication and drive.
Re: who needs coffee?
So all of his future success will be because of GOD? Please, give the man credit for what HE will overcome.Skeeterman wrote:As long as he has faith in GOD he will make it back stronger than ever like the baseball player Josh Hamilton my new hero.

The article talks directly and has quotes from Art about such.

I understand that, I just think people should give themselves more credit instead of giving it all to GOD. Art has worked hard and he should get all the credit he deserves.sTony wrote:Chaozu wrote:

Sounds to me like Art needs someone to help him get his priorities in order and psychological help. I'm serious.

Re: who needs coffee?
I'm sure there is alot of this going on. david Dudley is the biggest money winner in FLW and when he won the last tournament he said his cards were maxed and he barely was able to buy gas.

Re: who needs coffee?
wow- that's just crazy!!!
In the early days when fishing was still an up and coming sport(just a few short years ago) i think that was OK, and surely a way for a guy to "go for it" and "live the dream" to make it big.
But with today's full schedules, high cost entry fees, and the shear cost of gas, tackle, etc, i just think that's insane to do and not even realistic on any level.
You gotta have some balance and checks with reality on that.
I'll keep my day job and play all i want with fishing!
just my .02
