I HAVE USED THE BBZ-2 LINE OF BAITS AND HAVE WATCHED THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS OVER THE LAST 4 YEARS OF ALL THE BBZ BAITS. I ALSO GOOGLED PEARCH BABY BASS AND THE MOST POPULAR BLUEGILL. DO THIS AND CLICK ON IMAGES IN THE LEFT UPPER CORNER, WOW THE SCALES ON THE HEAD ARE SMALLER . BILLS BAIT IN NO WAY IS A COMPUTER COPY OR EVEN CLOSE. I HAVE COMPARED THESE BAITS LITERALY UNDER A MAGNIFIENG GLASS. ONE BAIT CARVED THE OTHER A MANUFACTURED SCALE PATERN. DIFFERENT SIZE AND TOTAL SHAPE. ONE PICTURE OUT THERE DOESENT TELL YOU THIS. I EVEN LAYED ONE BAIT NEXT TO AND ON TOP OF EACH OTHER NOT CLOSE AT ALL. I'D LIKE TO SEE THE CARVING MARK. NOT, THERE ARE NONE. I'VE SEEN CHANGES IN BILLS BAITS BECAUSE ONE THING OR ANOTHER MIGHT BE SIMILAR TO ANOTHER PERSONS BAIT. BILLS INTEGRITY SPEAKS FOR ITSELF IN THE PUTTING OF BAD *** BAITS. THEY LOOK LIKE THE REAL THING. I JUST LOST ALL RESPECT FOR THIS MATT GUY. I KNOW BILL AND I GARRENTEE WHEN THE BAIT COMES OUT IT WILL BE SMOKIN HOT. MATT BETTER HOPE BILL DOESENT TAKE OFFENSE CAUSE HE WILL STRIVE EVEN HARDER TO MAKE AN EVEN BETTER BAIT. ONE THING ABOUT BILL HE IS A PERFECTIONIST. THE MAGIC WORD IN PROGRESS PROTO TYPE. BILL MIGHT STAY TO HIMSELF BUT ITS BECAUSE OF GUYS LIKE MATT. I HOPE THE BAIT IS LESS EXPENSIVE AS WELL. SHOULD THINK BEFOR YOU SPEAK !! Rob I spent months carving and designing my first bluegill bait. I put my blood sweat and tears into it. Every detail in Bills bait is directly copied from mine. The eye socket, The scales on the cheeks, both the inner and outer cheeks. The fins. Every single fin on his bait is an exact copy. These features are NOT correct to a real bluegill. These features were my first attempt at a carving and bills bait has every single one of these details. See when you scan a bait to a file you can change the dementions. So the bait has been shrunk to a slightly smaller scale. Bill knows exacly what he did and I bet you also know.
As for a Jealous rage????? Not jelous at all. Hurt ? yes. Mad ? yes
disgusted ? yes Jealous? no. Why would I be Jelous? I am the one whe designed the original bait. I am not the Jelous type.
To be honest It took me a while to decide to even bring the truth out about bills "new" bait.
I kept asking myself "should I just keep my mouth shut and let bill do to me what he did to Rago?"
"should I just accept this as part of the indusrty?"
Is that what I should have done? Just let bill screw me like he has so many others?
I couldnt live with myself if I acted like that. I am not the type of guy to run out of my booth because I knew that people knew what I did. I had to do something to let people know the truth.
It would have been easier to let it go. Bill is like a god to some of you and you are his biggest worshiper. I Actualy never started this on this site because this is his home site allthough I cant say I was upset when it ended up over here.
Some have said its all about ego. Well those that know me know I dont have a big ego. I may rib my buddies when I out fish them but that all in fun. I dont like the spotlight. I felt violated so I spoke up. Thats all.

Bill says he and Rago are still freinds and Jerry is fine with bill. Is he out of his mind???? Is he serious!!!! Well Rago contacted me and wants me to call him.
I also talked to a guy with the initials D.C. today. he told me every detail on that deal. Oh I am sure bill knows exactly who I am talking about. Bill says HE INVENTED THE PROTOS for Jerrys tool?????WOW WOW WOW unbelievable!!!!
From what I was told bill sent Jerry some blocks of wood that vaigly resembled a lure. Not even close to anything resembling a Rago tool.
This whole episode has been very painful for me. First my hard work gets ripped off. Then I get attacked by guys like you because I spoke the truth and let people know what happened.
I understand what some of the guys are saying about this is the norm in our industry. I am well aware of that. I also do not think that it is any worse to copy a swimbait then it is to copy sombodies spinnerbait or worm. Wrong is wrong. Yes it happens every day but that doent make it right.
what happened with this particular bait is even one step lower then the regular knock off.
I understand you put bill on a pedastil. I am sure to his friends he is a great guy. It is your job as a friend to support bill even when he does things like this. You are a good friend.
Just make sure you dont get into making baits because you just might see him in a new different light.
Aslo Spro is a big company. I am tiny in comparison. I didnt pick a fight with them or bill. they came after me. Trust me I hate this.
There are times when stuff like this happens I just want to stop and get out of the industry but I cant let them beat me like that. I wont.
To all the members who have sent me PM's showing your support and telling me stories of bill, I greatly appreciate it. it means more then you guys know. I have tried to say my peace and move on but it seems as though I got drug back in.

You guys (Bill and Matt) need to work this out between the two of you, in private, or in court, but not in public. It's pointless.

Im sure its just a bad picture and everyone is out to get Matt. Like the posts I read from you on Ultimate bass where you went off on people. Im sorry but as far as Matts attitude I don't know him and don't mean to offend him but from the stuff I have read from him, IE his posts. He must have a 24/7 guard service and protection dogs. Thats just the impression I have gotten from the "everyone is out to get me" vibe I got from his posts. I think this was about 9 months ago when he tore into every other swimbait company as garbage unless it was his. Now granted that site has a lot of impressionable people, basically new to fishing, but any intention of me purchasing a MATTLURE went out the window with that attitude.

Now this. Again Those MAY be bad pictures, but I do a decent amount of imagery analysis in my day job and there are som big differences.

I see the same , the side fin looks to be larger and more like the fin of an Optimum and the forehead on the bait seem to have that of a femail bluegill. Matts bait has the bull bluegill look with the indentation just above the nose . Other than that it looks like a bluegill ! A horse is a horse of course of course .

Matt, Everyone knows inlcuding SPRO that you do not have the cash to fight a major company. It goes on in every aspect of the fishing industry. All you can do is rely on the people who are loyal to your product. Keep your head up.

22nd Century went through something similar when they released there baits and everyone was killing it on it. All the major companies followed with the imitations.

Often Imitated, never Duplicated. Sure "knock-offs" will catch fish , but the true anglers know what goes on and will stay true. Keep the faith amigo.

Nice try. I am constantly recomending other baits. I do however always tell people to buy quality brands, such as Hudds 3:16 Rago mine Slammer Stocker etc. If somebody ask my opinion on what bait to buy I give them an honest answer without spamming my baits.
Of corse Ron sees a"completly different bait" its his job as a Bill worshiper to do so. the things you refferenced are do to camera angle.
Look guys I understand your stratagy of attempting to turn it around on me. I think most can just look at the pics and see for themselvs how blatant the coping is.
I have said my peace and am more then happy to move on, however if the bill camp wants to continue the attack then I will be forced to defend myself.

camera angle has nothing to do with it matt. The Mouths look different. The whole structure it different. Its the first thing you look for when people try to disguise themselves. Look for things they cant change. Thats structure.

The structure of Bills bait is different and honestly LESS realistic than yours.
The fins are different. The mouth is less of an angle. The fin on the side is a completely different shape.
Yours is like a dead sunfish. His is like a hybrid Shad body and sunfish.
You are telling me you posted pics to prove your point. I can point out obvious differences. And Now you are saying its because of the angle?
Even the EYES have a different placement in the mold.

well we will just have to disagree on this then. I see my carving in bills bait and you guys say you see a different bait altogether.
I dont have better pics of bills bait. Those are the only pics I know of.

I forgot to add that the Matt Lures mouth is wider and thinner. The other one is thicker. These things make it had to copy a mold.

Its just too much modification to the mold. Seems like he'd have been better off with a whole new mold. Oh and a Computer design can ADD flaws into a design to make it look more lifelike.
IE scaring etc.
Thats something I would hope to see from Bill soon, add some "injures" to your designs. I say bill because he is the one using a computer. So he can catch an injured fish take a photo, and the graphics program can design a bait just like the injured fish.

The mouth angle is the same. the view of the picture is different. The top fin is not shorter, Bill used longer hooks. The side fin is the same, the angle at wich bill is holding the bait is differnt.
Any reasonable person who is not in the Bill camp can see what he did.

quit arguing matt, its completely different and you are reaching. Your mouth uses a wider strip of plastic. Bill uses a thinner yet taller piece.

Your mouth angle makes the fish look mad like a bulldog. Bills makes it look indifferent, maybe scared.

The side fins are completely different.

The body shape is different
Hooks have nothing to do with it. Dont like my pics go take an angled pic from one of the baits you have in your shop and I'll show the same differences.

You are here trying to discredit a bait before it hits the market. You know #$@#$ well that my pics prove he didnt copy you and you cant just admit you made a mistake and press. You have to keep dragging this out.

I guess you can clutch the one thing... he copied a bluegill and you made a bluegill. So he is forever a cheating jerk. Same goes for all the guys that copied a ribbon tail worm. Which at least someone could copyright.

Its about time somebody freaking said this, jeesh Im to the point that I WILL never buy a freaking Mattlure ever......Just this could have been handled in a much more professional manner.
