where the heck is the best hamburger place on the delta?

Post by MikeD »

so where is the best hamburger place on water in the delta?

tried the Paradise Grill @ Sugar Barge, was ok but not my idea of a fantastic burger. "They" say that Union Point ain't all that but I've never tried to eat there.

looking for a fantastic burger, and if they serve Sierra Nevada then so much the better.

so where is your favorite place?

Lumburg Landing -- HANDS DOWN !!

They season/mold their own meat -- no pre-made/frozen patties.

The Pattymelt with grilled purple onions is Awesome !! ( Just remember to ask for Mayo on the side - as they do not serve it with any)

(Between Franks and Sugar Barge)

We had burgers from Wimpy's this past Mother's Day. It wasn't busy that afternoon yet the service was extremely slow and our orders got screwed up. The burgers themselves were overcooked and really didn't live up to the hype.

It may depend on who's working the grill or maybe people just perceive a great tasting burger because they just came off the water after a very long day.

Wasn't impressed.

There used to be a floating hotdog stand (like a fastfood houseboat) that operated in the Mildred area--has anyone seen that lately?

Lundborg's Landing or Orwood are the best.

Lost Isle? You had too many cocktails. Unless they have recently improved those things are way too expensive and gross.

no driving, want to:

1) tie up boat
2) walk into establishment
3) order
4) drink a cold beer
5) eat a dynamite burger
6) relax with a window view
7) waddle back out to the boat
8) continue fishing

Don't know the name of the place but i believe it is over by Tiki Lagoon if I remember correctly...been a couple of years. It was a hand made burger with a little seasoning in it. Really enjoyed it with bacon and cheese.

Makes me reminisce back to my Parrot Head days:
I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good god almighty which way do i steer for my Cheeseburger in Paradise

No window view .... unless you are sitting at the bar. You can sit at the outside bar and see the water better while you eat ... knowing that the inside bar sitters have to look at your Arse or over your head to see the Delta.

Very cool place. GREAT hosteses, and great service all around to go with an A+ for the burger and fries !

If you're down south Union Point is the place to eat. They are under new management and have taken off the fried mushrooms  they were sooo good with a burger.

Plus the "views" aren't so bad in the afternoon...

Being a So. Cal. fisherman, I don't get the chance to fish the Delta very often. We were up there "fun" fishing before the Stren tournament and one morning ran up to the end of Fourteen Mile Sl. trying to find someplace out of the wind. Caught quite a few fish in the marina. Even ran into Elvis - he parks his yacht & Graceland 5th wheel there. Parked the boat & went into Bob's which is right across the patio from Garlic Brothers. Never been to any of the other places mentioned in this thread, but I can't imagine they could be any better than those at Bob's - they're GREAT! Check out their website. Unlike most ad pictures, this one pretty much represents what the burger looks like. If you're near there, give it a try.

Another vote for Bob's, hands down the best.

I've eaten at Orrwood and it was just OK.

Union Point is good also.

I've also eaten at the river boat which is good but I never had a burger there.

Heard they stab folks at lost isle, wont find me there.
