Subject: FW: HOW SARAH PALIN TRUMPS OBAMA-BIDEN
Don't dismiss the fact that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard-- consider this.
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. 100% on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska , Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama's.
She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

HOW THE SARAH PALIN PICK TRUMPS OBAMA-BIDEN
On August 29, 2008, Republican Presidential nominee, John McCain, announced Sarah <<image001.jpg>> Palin, Governor of Alaska as his VP running mate. That selection has trumped and checkmated the Obama-Biden ticket.
Coming the day after Obama's historic acceptance speech at the Democratic convention, which speech and Obama's earlier pick of Joe Biden as his own VP running mate, were expected to be the top news item leading into the Republican convention the following week, McCain's pick of Sarah Palin however completely eclipsed those events.
In less than 24 hours, Obama's day in the sun had been come under a cloud of shadow and was relegated to history being completely upstaged by the Palin choice. The news cycles have talked about nothing else since in terms of the presidential politics.
The choice by McCain has stunningly energized the conservative base of the Republican party, an important segment McCain had his own problems with. But by choosing Palin, a staunch conservative, he has revitalized his commitment and perception in that area. Many conservatives who had relegated themselves to simply voting against Obama, are now more than willing to for 'for' Palin.
The choice also reached out directly to independents and disaffected Democratic voters, particularly women, who were so sorely disappointed by Hillary Clinton's narrow loss and the way they had been treated since Obama sealed the nomination. Particularly in overlooking Hillary Clinton, who won 18 million votes in the primaries, and actually had more votes than Obama, those disaffected women are also excited about Palin, and indicating by the tens of thousands on blogs and disaffected Hillary voter sites on the web that they intend to cross over and vote for her and McCain.
The Obama campaign and DNC, curiously, have already launched all out attacks against the choice and Palin herself, indicating that she does not have enough executive or national experience.
Excuse me? She does not have enough executive experience?
A simple analysis of the relative experience levels of Sarah Palin compared to either Democratic candidate puts this to rest. For over the past decade, Sarah Palin has been involved in executive decision making at increasing levels of elected positions of public trust. Obama has no executive experience, Biden has no executive experience. During that time, Palin left off running an actual private business in Alaska, a commercial fishing business and was elected to her city council and then, in quick order to be Mayor of her home town. She did so well there that she was ultimately elected to be Governor of the State of Alaska, managing 17,000 personnel and a 9 billion dollar budget. Obama and Biden have absolutely no comparable experience at all, neither of them.

In Alaska <<image004.jpg>> , as Governor, Sarah is also the Commander in Chief (CINC) for the Alaskan National Guard. This is a <<image005.jpg>> critical national assignment as Alaska sits on the border with Russia where Air National Guard aircraft intercept Russian Bear aircraft. Sarah Palin has taken her role as the Commander seriously, regularly visiting the units and coming to understand their duties and capabilities.

Her involvement with, and her understanding of, the Energy issue is unmatched by either Democratic candidate.
Outside of her direct role as Governor and speaking more to her personal values and commitment to them, Sarah walks the walk on the pro-life issue. Having found out well in advance of delivery that her youngest child would have downs syndrome, she and her husband <<image009.jpg>> thanked God for the blessing and brought the baby into a loving home. (By contrast, Obama has stated publically that he doesn't want his children 'punished' with a baby).
As Governor, Palin actually visited the wounded soldiers in Germany, while Obama, when given the same opportunity in Europe, refused to comply with Defense Department guidelines regarding his entourage, and skipped that part of his schedule.
Beyond all of this, there is also a <<image010.jpg>> part of Sarah Palin that most hard working, patriotic, and committed Americans are coming to adore about her. She is real. She is authentic. Not only has she stood up to corrupt politics and the old networks that have produced so much waste, fraud, and 'bridges to n <<image011.jpg>> owhere', she is also a regular person, and authentic all-American girl, wife, mother, and citizen.
She has actually walked the walk of reform and change instead of just talking about it.
She does not come from privilege, did not aspire to it, or become placed in it. She did not attend the Ivy League or prestigious schools. She has gotten to where she is by pure honesty, integrity, and strength of charachter and has been raising five kids and enjoying life while doing so.
Sarah Palin loves to Four-wheel and fly with her family in Alaska.
Sarah Palin loves to fish in Alaska.
Sarah Palin loves to hunt in Alaska.
..and, oh, did I mention? Sarah Palin loves to shoot.
All of this drives the leftist and anti-American crowd mad. Sarah Palin is the real deal. Young, refreshing, c <<image012.jpg>> ommitted wife, mot <<image013.jpg>> her, American citizen. She is the real deal when it comes to the change that is so much need <<image014.jpg>> ed in American pol <<image015.jpg>> itics, particularly in Washington. John McCain must be congr <<image016.jpg>> atulated for vetti <<image017.jpg>> ng her, seeing this, and putting her on the national stage.
<<image018.jpg>>
She represents i <<image019.jpg>> n fact, and in her own actions, what so many others (including Obama and the entrenched Biden) only talk about, and then go on with business as usual.
Obama, in his own actions and positions as a State Senator (voted merely present so many time in the State Senate, but voted no defending the Born Alive Abortion Protection Act there), in his own actions and positions as a US Senator (spent only 144 days on the job before beginning his campaign for the President, but in those short days was recognized as the Senator with the furthest left record), and particularly in his own willful associations of long standing with hateful, racists individuals like Jeremiah Wright (who preached 'Not God bless American, No, No, No, God Damn America!) to Obama and his children, and with the likes of Bill Ayers, the unrepentant, arrogant, and militantly anti-American political connection where Obama kicked off his own political career, who bomber the US Pentagon, the US Capitol, and NY City Polic Headquarters and then claimed in an interview published on 911 that his only regreet was that he had not done enough...no with such actions and such associations (npot to mention TOni Rezco, Pleger, and others), Obama has proven that his change is precisely the type we do not want or need in Washington.

An excellent post !.
The next few weeks will see the hand wringing liberals scrambling to try to discredit this selection of Palin as V.P. Certainly they will rally the gay-marriage sickos, the draft-dodging anti-military kooks, the freeloading welfare recipients , the Islam sympathisers, those who think patriotism is a right wing ploy, those who suck up to PETA and the Sierra Club's anti-fishing and anti-hunting demands and of course those who want us to fail in the war on terror.....
These, by and large are the people who will support the Empty Suit and his liberal loser Biden.
Thankfully it will be for naught.
McCain/Palin will win the electionf or sure...and a landslide is very possible.

Re: Sarah
Great, a woman who can keep a secret. So anyone who was ever an Alaskan Governor is qualified to be president because they all kept a secret. Whew! Talk about drinking Koolaid.
What national security duties has she ever exercised... that what I'd like to know. How has she been tried and tested with these national security issues.
She'll go down in history as the least qualified person to ever be nominated as VP. Oh I forgot, she does know how to ebay things.

Re: Sarah
The Cornish "game hen" is at it again.....criticizing and questioning Palin's credentials...yet the same questions this leftist-liberal (who reeks of political niatevity ) posed, if asked of the big-eared Muslim Obama...could not be answered....
This is typical of the something-for-nothing liberal element - they can wring their hands, stamp their feet, but intelligent debate is far beyond their capabilities.
Let's hear what these hide-behind-the-screen leftists like Cornish do support:
___Gay Marriage ? ?
___ War effort in Iraq??
___Pledge of Allegience in the school systems ??
___Sound Secure Borders??
___Drilling for oil off-shore and in Alaska ??
___ Welfare entitlements for illegal aliens??
___Cutting off foreign aid to countries hostile to America??
We know your kind are Bush haters, so what do you like about this country and how do you stand on the few issues listed. And lastly, provide at least two reason's that Obama should be considered for Commander-in-Chief of our troops over John McCain.
I'm waiting.

This is why you can't be taken seriously by any thinking person. My father has ears that make Obama's seem tiny. He's a Republican and a great guy. For someone who can read, you should already know that Obama is Christian, not Muslim. He has had very little to do with his Kenyon father from the time he was born.hrvestuff wrote:.....if asked of the big-eared Muslim Obama...could not be answered....
___Gay Marriage ? I couldn't care less
___ War effort in Iraq? End it as fast as we can withdraw, taking all war gear with us, or reinstitute the selective service (no college deferments) and go kick their asses totally, including Iran and the hills of Pakistan. If that brings in The Pakistani government, so be it.
___Pledge of Allegience in the school systems? I'm in favor of having the original Pledge of Allegiance said in all public schools. It was written by Francis Bellamy in 1892 and said, "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
___Sound Secure Borders? Build a fence and man it with troops.
___Drilling for oil off-shore and in Alaska ? Unlimited, with three restrictions.
1. Distance from shore to give time to intervene with the possibilty of spills and following environmental guidlines on shore.
2. Requirement of more oil refineries built on U.S. Soil
3. Large investments in Hydrogen power and alternative renewable energy sources.
___ Welfare entitlements for illegal aliens?Cut them off. Foreigners getting green cards and paying into Social Security can only collect their benefits if they become citizens and receive payment in this country after retirement.
___Cutting off foreign aid to countries hostile to America? That's very ambiguous. Who decides who's hostile. Give me a list.
You forgot Nuclear Power. I'm in favor.
I stated all these opinions long ago in this forum. If you did any reading besides just posting other peoples thoughts, you'd have seen it.

hrvestuff, I wished you could quote so I wouldn't have to clean up after you. But we'd better get used to it after the Bush years. Be happy to finish up with you after I go out and enjoy the company of my friends at an art show. Both "Queer" and "Straight", "Atheist" and "Christian" at a non profit gallery run by good friends who are republicans campaigning hard for McCain. And... I plan to have a good time with all of them.

Getalife; perhaps I get a little caustic. However, in the past few months replies to my posts from such as Cornish, , Jeff C., Fishaholic, Delta and other leftists on this board have oft beenWhile I agree with the content of your post, you're tone and words are counterproductive. I have learned, mostly from this forum, that tact and diplomacy will earn more respect, even if your opponents disagree with you.
insulting, casustic and personal. Thus , I have little feeling for what they think. Their copied rhetoric regarding a myriad of subjects comes straight from the liberals who have legitimized and set the tone for such tactics in political discussions. Their long crusade against President Bush, the war on terrorism, is, in many cases, dictated by what are said by Pelosi, Reid, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and the extreme left news media.
In the case of President Bush, they choose to overlook the fact that
following 9/11 we have not been subject to another attack, though many were planned. Thanks to our military intervention and successes in the mid-east, no football stadiums have blown up, no aircraft have been hijacked(in this Country), no dams were blown up. This was not because our enemies backed off. It was due to
extensive and successful investigative work by our counter terrorist people in spite of the liberal Democrats oppostion to wire-tapping and other methods of securing vital information needed to thwart the Islamic plans.
In short, reason and facts mean nothing to the ardent Bush haters.
They are enamored with a would-be leader (B. Hussein Obama), who has never "led" anything in his life, and supports curtailing
our methods used to secure information that protect us from future attacks. Certainly we are not out of the woods in this effort to provide security for Americans, but if we adhered to
the demands of the liberal left in these matters, it is a certainty that the Islamic terrorists will be allowed to achieve thier goals in this country.
And yes, there are other issues, but all pale in importance to the security of this Nation..and we can thank God George Bush has had the courage to forge ahead with the war on terrorism the way he has.. That is all that is important to me. I could care less about unemployment rates (most of the unemployed are in that postion because of bad choices in life). I don't give a rats *** about the home repossession issues (most are the result of greedy mortgage brokers financing people that should have never been financed in the first place.) The global warming issue is non-issue with me (when the icebergs receded back from the the Northern USA were the Eskimos driving SUVs?). The economy? What is so bad about it? Remember Jimmy Carter? You bought a fishing boat in those days consumer financing was at 22%. And look who is opposed to tapping our oil reserves in Alaska, North Dakota, off-shore ,etc. It's the liberals who support the goals of the NRDC and the Sierra Club. And most of them don't even know who the NRDC is or what they stand for, and who finances them.
Yes, GETALIFE, I am caustic when it comes to the likes of the leftist liberal who has little regard for the achievements of George Bush and our military in thwarting the plans of the Islamic terrorists (so far).. And I inlcude those posters mentioned. And if anyone has a problem with that. To bad.

Greg, I think you pissed Harvey off!
Getalife, you have been pissed off at the Liberals on this board at times and you used some choice words yourself!
Harvey, welcome to the struggle of keeping America on the conservative path! That should get some of liberals going! As for Natural Resources Defense Council are not friends of Bass fisherman or of conservatives. The liberals love the NRDC
Take note guys that the binding glue here is bass fishing and that the regulars using the basement of WBC have their minds made up and will vote as they always have. What is important is the others that are joining us chose the right side and we conservatives are winning! Just take a look at the others that are joining us and judging by the PM that I’m receiving.
Just take a look at the post of “Palin picked as VP running mateâ€

Greg,
Each of us have come on here in a pissed off mood and that includes you and me! But we keep coming back because we believe in what we say (write) and that is the America Way. Change is not an over night thing but little points here and there.
What I believe is you were raised as a conservative but has lived with the liberals for to long and is having troubles sleeping at night!
Even fishahallic (Dave) has admitted that Sarah is the best damn thing to happen to the Republican Party since Reagan.
Jeff C has come around to admit the Nuclear Power is a way out and at one time that was a no-no for liberals.
The only thing I disagree with Harvey is the front against liberalness is not a just a few fronts (issues) it is a battle on all fronts. This thing that is happening is not a Democracy or a Republican thing they are just the instruments. The battle is conservativeness virus liberalness.

That's how both sides would love to see it but you left out the largest group. The Centrist independents who are stuck in the middle of this BS two party system that's corrupt on both sides.
I miss the Nixon/Kennedy political era before hate radio from both sides. I remember political discussion where people talked rationally to each other.

My finger can’t keep up with my mind – what I meant to write was the battle is conservativeness and the virus of liberalness!
Times are changing fast and we need to keep up (look we are using computers) and information is coming out faster then it is being made up. And I mean made up – it is getting harder to weed through the lies to find the truth. Even worst is the half lies that sound like the truth.

You know, You're probably right. But Alaska is right next to the north pole. She was only governor for a year and a half, I bet she's known Santa Claus a lot longer. I got a special nephew who needs an Xbox this year, I think I'll write to her.Rod Martin wrote:Subject: FW: HOW SARAH PALIN TRUMPS OBAMA-BIDEN
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska 's proximity to Russia , she may have security clearances we don't even know about......
.....In Alaska , as Governor, Sarah is also the Commander in Chief (CINC) for the Alaskan National Guard. This is a critical national assignment as Alaska sits on the border with Russia where Air National Guard aircraft intercept Russian Bear aircraft. Sarah Palin has taken her role as the Commander seriously, regularly visiting the units and coming to understand their duties and capabilities....

We have had former governors as presidents in 24 of the last 28 years

At the end of the day, 95% of you have been divided by the "hot" button issues like gay marriage and "war" on "terror" While you "fiddle" with such "minor" issues, Rome burns. Pay attention please!! Our country is falling appart and it is because if the two party system. Just ask our greatest president; George Washington.

NO I DID NOT!! I was refering to how the republicans and the republican polital hacks were acting like "she is the best thing to happen to the republican party since Reagan".
I don't think she is qualified at all especially since if you look at McSame I would say there is a good chance the VP will have to move over to the drivers seat. Don't give me this crap about her being the Gov of Alaska that she was on the front line of Americas defence, that is a joke.
I believe the VPs main job is to council the President and this is something Pallin can't do unless McSame is looking for cooking receipe. When I look back over the presidents since I have been alive you would rarely even hear anything about the VP but that all changed with GW. You should be able to see that Cheney has a lot of control on this administration which in my opinion is not normal, but with GW being dumber than a box of rocks it must have been necessary.

Mondale was highly qualified politician and a decent man. (from wiki)
Mondale has been involved in national politics since the 1940s. At the age of 20, he was already making a name in Minnesota politics by helping organize Hubert Humphrey's successful Senate campaign in 1948.
Minnesota Governor Orville Freeman appointed Mondale as the state's Attorney General in 1960, to fill the vacancy left by Miles Lord, who was appointed to the U.S. Attorney General's office. Mondale had just successfully managed Freeman's gubernatorial campaign. Mondale was just 32, and only four years out of law school, when he became attorney general of Minnesota. He spent two terms as attorney general. He also served as a member of the President’s Consumer Advisory Council from 1960 to 1964.
Vice President Walter F. Mondale.
On December 30, 1964, Mondale was appointed by Minnesota Governor Karl Rolvaag to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by Hubert Humphrey's resignation after being elected Vice President of the United States.
In 1966, Mondale defeated Republican candidate Robert A. Forsythe, 53.9% to 45.2%. In 1972, George McGovern offered him an opportunity to be his running mate, which Mondale declined. Instead, the voters of Minnesota returned Mondale to the Senate again in 1972 with over 57% of the vote.
During his years as a senator, Mondale served on the Finance Committee, the Labor and Public Welfare Committee, Budget Committee, and the Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. He also served as chairman of the Select Committee on Equal Education Opportunity and as chairman of the Intelligence Committee's Domestic Task Force. He additionally served as chairman of the Labor and Public Welfare Committee's subcommittee on Children and Youth, as well as chairman of the Senate subcommittee on social security financing.
As a Senator, Mondale enjoyed public renown for his role in the investigation of the Apollo 1 fire on January 27, 1967. Mondale also served in 1975 on the Church Committee, which investigated abuses by U.S. intelligence agencies. He served in the 88th, 89th, 90th, 91st, 92nd, 93rd, and 94th congresses.
Quayle was qualified on paper.

Ahh, but Greg. (And I just knew you knew the real Wally Mondale) But, my fine fuzzy friend, if 'time served' is the best qualifier (based on your 'time not served' being a non-qualifier), then explain Kennedy's win over Nixon. And please, don't use the Kinescope analogy of dark suit vs. light suit - been there, done that. Gimme something new, and please enlighten us all on how that plays into today's political world.

I've shaken hands with Hubert Humphrey a few times too. My mother made sure I washed my hands after that, but he was a great man. He'd remember who you were and where he meet you years later.

"we can thank God George Bush has had the courage to forge ahead with the war on terrorism the way he has.. That is all that is important to me"
Are you serious???? George Bush totally dropped the ball when it comes to the war on terrorism. Look at his record, we had Bin Laden cornered in a valley in the Afghan mountains. Rather than sending in a force of American paratroopers to cut off the area trap him and kill him, he opted to send a group of Afghan locals that had fought with Bin Laden in the war against the Soviets...THEY TOOK OUR MONEY AND LET HIM ESCAPE....Shocking!!!!!!!!
Dude get a grip George Bush has failed as a private sector business man, he failed as an oil man, he failed as a parent as evidence by his daughters drunken exploits, he has failed in the war on terrorism, he has failed in terms of the U.S. Ecomony, he has failed when it comes to the U.S. Border, he has failed in the arena of public approval and he is a self proclaimed alchoholic......
The things you say you don't care about are crucial parts to the safety and security of the people of the United States demonstrating how ill informed you really are....Therefore I'm not surprised that you are still supporting the misguided and failed policies of the life long failure that is our current president George (I ripped off my shirt and challenged my father to a druken fist fight) Bush........
