Stuck in SLO

Post by Fly'in V »

Hey all, I long time member on the Nor-cal board. I live in Sacramento, but I'm Working TDY in San Luis Obispo for a few weeks and wondering if any of you have fished "Laguna Lake Park".

I was able to bring just two rods and a small bunch of tackle.
Thinking A buzz-bait and senko's.

Any ideas?

Oh and I had to leave the Ranger at home also so I'm "ground-bound".

If you can hook up with someone with a boat, check out Lopez and /or Cachuma. I have fished both with great success. John Barron is from that area I believe and could hook you up with better info then I. Try giving him a PM and ask some questions, He is a great guy and knows that area like the back of his hand. Naci, Santa Margarita are just a couple of more in that area. Ask!

Man, I fished a WONBASS TOC at Cachuma and was humbled!!!

Only cool part was the Lightning that was striking all around the lake.

And I got a cool jacket!!!

Well I'm going to fish any ways, I'm gonna throw a buzzbait and Pop-r at 0600, then at 0700 a senko. Maybe I get pancakes at 0900...

beats sleeping...

'Your stranded Friend from Sacramento...'

I'll post the results...

The die off was years ago during the drought. I haven't fished it for years, but have been told theres fish to be had. For shore fishing go over the hill to Santa Margarita, more and easier access.
I don't know enough, to leave well enough alone.

There are fish in Laguna. It is hard to fish from shore because it is very shallow on the park side and most of the fish are in the deeper section on the house side. The best fishing in the area is at Lopez and Margarita. Margarita might be better from shore then Lopez.
