Triton owners-differences in tr20x and tr20x2

Post by raymond »

I am looking into purhasing a triton. Was wondering if there are major differences in the handling, hole shot, deck layout etc.I notice a deeper bow on the x2.Does it sit lower in the water? It seems the trx sits quite high on the water unlike say a Skeeter which is also on my mind.

The X2 is wider at the waterline- hence a LITTLE more stable side to side. Because the X2 is wider it is a little slower with the same HP. The new X3 is supposed to be an XHP hull with the X2 deck. My last Triton was a 2008 XHP 20ft., and it had less chine walk than earlier ones, with adjustable seats- very much like an X2. I'd say get an X3 or a 2008 20XHP, as the XHP is the choice of most tourney anglers.(it's fast, it's roomy, it stores a ton of gear, it's easy to re-sell.) Good Luck.

Raymond

I would be happy to help you out and give you the rundown on both boats. I have a 2008 20XHP and will have it for another couple weeks. I also have a 2009 20X3 on the way so I can get you in either boat. PM me a phone number and I will give you a call and try to help you with both boats. There are some great deals and additional rebates available from our dealers right now.

not sure about the 20x but can compare my 08 21x2 with my 03tr20 and it is the best boat i have ever driven or fished on...up front is like fishin on a carrier deck and with the movement of the gas tank so far no chine up to 60mph havent broke that mark yet as i believe in a slow break in time....jack
