Be very careful or radio/website donations. More and more are showing up to be scams. Better to go down to your local food bank and give non-persiable food items for people in need in your own local area. Remeber that most of the moneys sent to those other agencies goes to management salary and ads and website costs.
Just a thought. You are correct in that it "is better to give than recieve" but be cautious to who you give. Bill K

Thanks Bill K.. Yeah, I don't trust anything coming to me via spam. I don't hardly trust e mail from companies I've signed up with as someone could make an e mail looking 'official'. Especially all those political ads that flooded the inbox with links to donated to this or that candidate.
So you made me wonder and so I just did search for this company on the IRS 501 c3 (http://www.irs.gov/app/pub-78/) and they are listed, so this particular company is legit. Another website about orphans said this about the org. - "arranged a good deal for the donation to help the little ones out there in dire need."

Here is more info I've located about them, notice the bold part I made, they too are making sure their help is used to the best of it's ability-
Mission: To supply at least one nutritious meal per day to as many orphans as possible.
Food for Orphans, a tax deductible 501(c)3 charity, is recognized as an international leader in feeding orphans. Gary VanDyke, our Founder and CEO, began helping orphans in 1999. In 2007, Food for Orphans was officially incorporated, with headquarters located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our staff has experience and history in visiting orphan homes, seeking out orphan care projects in need, evaluating those projects, training orphan care providers, measuring the needs of orphans and projects, and sharing our advice with the providers.
Food for Orphans supplies the funds to purchase food for orphans around the world. We are currently feeding orphans in Asia, Africa, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. We seek out and evaluate new orphan care projects that need assistance in providing food to hungry orphans. Our goal is to make sure that every orphan receives at least one nutritious meal per day.
Food for Orphans provides assistance and food to orphans that truly need help. That means we fund feeding programs in mostly poor third-world countries. We seek out those orphan care programs that have exhibited the ability and history to care effectively for the needs of orphans, yet struggle to provide the necessary food. From the orphan care providers, we require project financial accountability, monthly reports, updates on the condition of the orphans, and unlimited access to the project.

William Arthur Ward said, "A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition."Biff wrote:I'll Donate $$$$$$$$$$ for a mass castration squad.
An anonymous wit once quipped, "Your day usually goes the way the corners of your mouth are turned."
Wheaton College professor, Russell Mixter, often said, "Life worth living depends on the liver" (you have to think about that one).
And Dr. Samuel Johnson wrote, "It is worth a thousand pounds a year to have the habit of looking on the bright side of things."
Of course, the greatest quotes about positive joy and thanksgiving are from the Bible, which tells us to serve the Lord with gladness and to rejoice in the Lord always. Jesus frequently told His followers, "Be of good cheer." And in 1 Thessalonians 5, we have a wonderful little triplet: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
We can't always be "happy"; but we can always choose to be thankful and joyful whatever the circumstances. That is God's will for us.
We just need to sometimes remind ourselves.
People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing. That's why we recommend it daily. Zig Ziglar
Isn't it amazing Biff that if you have little ones and they were left parentless (orphaned) through some tragic incident that a few God-fearing (means God-loving) strangers would come to their rescue?
