Lake Casitas Quaga issue resurfacing again.....

Post by CORYMDISPENSIERO »

Lake Casitas Quaga issue resurfacing again only it happens to taking place at a small Lake in Palmdale Ca. The Fin and Feather Club received notice a while back that the Palmdale Water District was dealing with the same dingle berry that played a major part in implementing today’s outrageous and irresponsible steps you must take to fish lake Casitas. We all no that it takes from our personal experiences but fact is takes from much more..

There will be a meeting held at the Fin and Feather Club Tues night and everyone and anyone is welcomed to attend Please if anyone has any literature, factual statements, or examples of the economic ect. problems this causes please forward it to the email below or private message me.

I am sure Shane/ Palmdale Shane would also like to receive this information as well.

It's easier for these guys to close a lake than to try to figure out how to deal with the mussels once they arrive.
But that's just postponing the inevitable.
They will be in all our lakes sooner or later, so it's time to come up with real solutions, instead of "close it".
While there's still time.

Bump ,
I just left their office to renew my membership and confermed . They would love to get more facts from the fisherman stand point . I was told that they would love to talk with some guys like Mike Gusti , John Barron and Ron Cervanka who have done some real homework on the issue . Unfortunatly the meeting is tomarow at 6.00 pm. so no time to plan for this one . Im sure there will be another soon so Guys if you could step up to the bar one more time it would be greatly appreciated.

Brain Fart , If the fin draws water from the aquaduct and Castaic, Pyramid , piru and whatever other lakes pump to and from it as well , what good would it do to lock it down unless the others do the same . Only makes sence to fallow the clean and dry rule .

My guess is that it's the ski boats that are spreading it. The fishermen know about clean & dry, but I doubt the ski nuts care at all.

That's true those type Boat's will be harder to check.

But alot of this started becouse they found them in San Justo about 15 mile's from my house. It's electric motor only how did they get in there.

Try to keep them out of your Lake or they will "Close It"and that suck's.

you know whats funny iVe been doing some work with eltoro water district.Installing a new chlorinating station at one of there water tanks . well while there guys were digging a trench for me I talked to some of there employees, I asked where there water came from they said colorado river. I said have you had any problems with quagga/ They said huh whats that? t laughed I guess its not that big of a problem. Even if Irvine has it. So the funny thing is the different water districts aren't even or the employees aren't really aware of quagga

I think that's why everyone is so frustrated Jason.Like I said I cant even fish the Lake around the corner so to speak and I dont see how this problem can be fixed without one plan for the whole State.

Look at a Map, San Justo is right in the middle of the State and to me Casitas really isnt that close to the Colorado River compared to some Southern California Lake's.

The inspection I thought I was going to have at Clear Lake was a joke. There was no inspection just a fee to purchase a sticker I have to peel off my boat.

Yes, the State has really had a rather disheartening response- or lack of a response, overall to Quaggas that have already gotten here.

Yup. Typical water board BS. I wasnt able to attend the meeting due to school. Funny thing has already been mentioned. The ski boats are far more numerous on SoCal waters. Yet the F&F doesnt allow anything but fishing boats. Plus it recieves water from the Aqueduct. And when the water level is full at Littlerock Dam, it gets water from there too. One careless boater at Littlerock after a couple days at Mead and the mussels will likely end up in the Fin too.

At the meeting the water board said Littlerock dam is going on the same Casitas program. They also mentioned that they plan on chlorinating the 7 mile cement ditch that transfers water from the dam to the Fin.

According to them the aquaduct water comes from a differant location than the Castaic and Pyramid location. :?: :?: :?: So where does it come from . Its a long distance from here and the Sac. delta.
How many boats will a guy have to buy to fish more than one body of water !

True Ron lol. If it comes down to a permanent 28 day quarantine Ill buy a beater aluminum and leave it there.

Maybe they take water from the pipes before Pyramid at the bottom of the hill on the Grapevine? Maybe the Quail Lake System?

It still would have to go through Buena Vista. You know how many ski boats are on that thing in the summer…..and the ones with ballast are more of a threat than a bass boat.

Exactly. And you know how many people with ski boats in the AV and Central Valley use Buena Vista. Many of them go to the river chain lakes often. Its only a matter of time imo...
