I may be mistaken, but I believe the closest Walleye fishery would be Lake Powell.

None in N.California that have been located yet. But a couple in N.W. and Central Nevada that are worth the effort.

Lake Lohontan, between Carson City NV and Fallon NV has walleye, closest one I know of to Northern California. Check with Sportsman Warehouse in Reno, Nv for info on same. Bill K

I can put you in touch with an outstanding walleye guide in northern Minnesota (Cliffs Guide Service out of Lake Vermilion MN (Tower, MN area). Good rates and the man plain knows how to fish that lake and put clients on fish. I can probably also get you a discounted rate, since he is after all family. I make my way up there at least once a year to do some fishing and see family in the area. Never been skunked on a trip.... actually I think we have always limited out and in most cases culled fish most of the day.

No Walleye fish in Cal. ,I have talked to F.& G. biologiest about them in Cal. they said it will never happen , they do not want another predator fish in the delta

Lakes Casitas and Puddingston both had walleyes stocked back in the late 50's, they are long gone.
Arizona's Black lake area up on the Mogollon rim above Payson has a few walleyes and northern pike.
Your best bet is the Columbia river, world class walleye fishery.

Columbia river is it,,,for me so I can go for both smallies and wallies and at the same time to scout around for FLW NG series which I'll fish FOR SURE say,,,,,SOME DAY.

Never had more fun fishing smallies than Moosehead Lake on the Canada / US boarder. Camped up there for 4 days drove a boat across Basswood portaged to the Canada side and rowed to the camp site ... took a while but was worth it. MONSTER smallies up there!

You are right about the MIGHTY COLUMBIA Kevin. It is probibly the finest walleye fishery in the world right now.Yes the upper mid-west has some nice walleye but they don't even come close to the quality you will catch up here.It is only a matter of time before the WORLD record is caught on the Columbia.Above and below McNary can be INBREDIBLE and it is just starting to get going right now.GB...Jim

Jim, I already caught the world record walleye in the Columbia above McNary (6 pound test line class IGFA World Record walleye at 13 pounds, 12 ounces)!

And there are biggers ones there waiting to be caught. Awesome fishery.
