U.S. Angler's Choice Starts Angler Advisory Group

Post by sTony »

Brentwood, CA – In an effort to partner with our customers, US Angler's Choice announced today the formation of a Pro-Am Anglers Advisory Committee. The group will be made up of various tournament-tested anglers that will weigh in on a variety of issues concerning the USAC Pro Am tournaments, slated to start in March on Lake Oroville.

"We want to bring a group of established and respected anglers together to help us chart a course for our Pro-Am tournaments," said Mark Mendez, President of M.A.M. Marketing Group LLC, which operates U.S. Angler's Choice tournament trails. "This group isn't made up of only our best customers but our harshest critics as well. We can and want to learn from each of them and make US AC Pro-Am's the best paying and highest rewarding experience available in bass fishing tournaments."

The committee will be made up of several professional anglers, some of whom have already agreed to be among them are Gary Dobyns of Yuba City, Calif., the West’s top money earner, Dave Rush, of Palermo, Calif., a veteran angler with multiple Pro-Am titles to his credit, Chad Martin of Plumas Lake, Calif. a past US Anglers Choice Pro Am Champion, veteran tournament professional and host of Ultimate Bass Radio on Sports 1140 KHTK, Kent Brown of Roseville, Calif., Dewayne Bonham, a longtime Western Pro from Brentwood, Calif., with several high finishes and Roderick Lee of San Ramon, Calif., a Stren Series Championship qualifier and pro team Angler of the Year with others to be named at a later date.

The advisory committee will be no larger than 12 representing anglers. The group will assist establish guidelines for USAC to follow in establishing their way in Pro-Am fishing marketplace.

The staff at Angler's Choice will be running these events with a transparent policy towards releasing all financial information about the tournaments. Anyone fishing these Pro-Am tournaments will be able to find out exactly how much money is on the table for entry fees and all options.

Primary sponsors for U.S. Angler’s Choice include Legend Boats, Mercury Outboards, Lowrance Electronics, MotorGuide Trolling Motors, Basstackledepot.com, Bass West USA Magazine, Swimbait Nation, and WesternBass.Com.

I think you should consider putting a few guys that finish around the fifty's all the time. The list you have there is very impressive, but do think they will the mid range or lower tere guys in there best interest? Just my thought. Bill Ponting

I think this is a great idea. I for one have never understood why AC hasn't drawn some of the names that are listed here. I figure it has to be something personal, but what do I know?

I agree with Mr. Pointing as well. With 12 of the "Big Dogs" on the board, something might get lost. Look at what most of the circuits are trying to do, level the playing field.

I hope you can pull it off. I've always been a supporter of AC and fished from the backseat of the Pro Ams up until a couple years ago. To many GOOD folks started moving on. That may be something for the board to discuss.
I had to come back...I know...

I would think if AC does Pro Ams down south they'd have a separate committee made up of folks fishing from that region.

Better put a few AMs on the board, too.

So does that mean they don't want the So Cal'ers participating in the North events? Be afraid...very afraid
