Pinpoint 7420 Problem

Post by Deli »

I have a Pinpoint 7420 and I am having problems with the simulator. It comes on the screen and it stays on. I have tried to reset it and it still stays on the screen. Anyone have the same problem or might know what the problem is. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem on mine once. Make sure the transducer is plugged in and making contact.

Check your transducer wire where your trolling motor turns. Possibly your cable is worn down in this area. What happens after a while of use the wire becomes frail or broken because the wire is too tight or not set up right. The twisting motion will break the cable.

I had a problem with the unit shutting off then turning back on. Once I checked the transducer cable I found it was worn to the bare wire. A little electrical tape worked fine until I purchased a new transducer.

Check your connection make sure your transducer is connected.

All else fails find a buddy with the same unit and try his on yours and yours on his. If you still have the same problem it's time to send it off to the company for repairs.

My friend and I installed this in the front and I had the same problem. It was were the cable went into the boat. We tighten it to tight and it crinp the cable. loosen it just a bit and you should be fine.
