Delta Marine - NO WAY

Post by ken L. »

In the later part of August I had a short in my outboard and smoked the wiring. I took it to All Marine and he had to replace all the wiring. After he had done all that, the only problem I was having was the the over heat warning horn would go off every once in awhile. After 3 plus tries to figure out what was wrong, I decided to see if another shop with fresh ideas could find the problem. After calling Delta Marine and asking if they worked on Johnsons, and them telling me that they do, I took it to them. Well after over two months of them PLAYING with it and the over heat warning still not solved now the low oil warning starts going off. I started to decide to sell the boat, and had two people that were interested in buying the boat, but told them that I could not sell until the warning horn problem was solved. After another couple of weeks more, I told Delta Marine that they should buy the boat since I couldn't fix it. The people that were looking at buying it were will ready to buy at my asking proce of $3500.00 which I thout was a fair price, well I didn't get that much from Delta Marine since is was still broken. Well low and behold within a few weeks after the bought it from me it is now on Craigs List for, are you ready $5995.00!!!!!! It's funny after they work on it for 2 plus months and can't fix it within days after I sold it to them IT'S FIXED?? Makes you go HUH??? So in short, do you think I would ever go to Delta Marine again? NOW WAY

Not really feeling your pain. You took it to one shop, they couldn't fix it. You take it to another shop, same issue. You "tell" them to buy it, they do. Then you bitch because they have it for sale? Did you think they bought it because they wanted to go fishing? Do you know how much it cost them to fix it? It sounds like it was a complex issue as the first shop could not fix it as well. They may have spent a bunch of MONEY as well as TIME to get the boat ready to sell. On top of that it is not sold so let it go. You got your buyer IMO.

I agree with Robert..whats your bitch..

they paid you for the boat ( your asking price ) now you want them to pay you a higher price!!!!

you should stepoff and look at what you are asking.. you were lucky they bought the boat..some people would have pushed you to the curb... the wiring fried while you had it, they didn't cause it... I don't know them..but now I know they are standup guys and would have no problem letting them work on my boat..

Kind of sounds like everyone got what they wanted out of the dealings and that maybe it just worked out better, in the long run, for the dealer. Who really knows. They new boat owner will in time see if the problems were fixed. Move on and have a pleasant time out fishing. BIll K :)
Fun fishing the country, each and every week.

I dont get it you only took your boat to one shop, sold them the boat that wasnt running and now your upset that they resold your boat for a higher value....what did you expect them to do take a loss?

Next time when your boat is in the shop and it cant be fixed call a different shop. I have never had issues with the shops I use, Galaxie Marine and Capital City have always taken care of me!
