I know these are brutal times but FLW

Post by Rick G »

needs our support out West this year or we might lose it. First off let me say thanks to all the fishermen/women that have supported this top trail since they came west. You all know who you are. And I agree that there are scheduling conflicts/ money issues galore on this topic. But I did just come from the FLW Tour event at Table Rock Lake and the word in the crowd was this is our last chance to prove we can support a trail of this level. The West produces the Worlds best Bass Anglers, but the only way they are ever going to be able to showcase their talents is with a nationally televised/sponsored trail. Trust me, they watch these blog sites and all comments good and bad are seen. Lets keep it positive out there folks and hope this economy turns around soon enough to where we can keep the big boys in the sandbox. Thanks for listening. Rick Grover-Anglers Marine

The fishing at Havasu will be great so if you are on the fence now is the time to sign up. Looks like we will be fishing in shorts all week and catching brown and green fish.

I agree with Rick-This is the best opportunity to make it fishing a national tournament in our own back yard. It beats having to drive 1500-2000 to fish a national tournament.

If you have never fished a FLW NG event you will not be let down. They put on a great tournament.

Cost / Sign-up Partner

Post by Schneider Fishing »

What's the cost and deadline for entry as a AM? I am off that week for spring break so I'm kicking the idea around with the wife.
I might also need a sign-up partner if I remember how those things go.

Rick you are right on about the word in the crowd. I received a call
today from Chris Jones, and he said they really need all our
support NOW if we want this circuit to continue.
If any of our bassn bros have not signed up, please do so. You
will never be treated better by a tournament director than Chris
Jones or have a better ran event from start to finish. This guy
is truly the best in the business.
So again if there is a chance you might fish, please do so. It's
not very often we get a chance to cast for as much as
$125,000.00.
Oh and fishing well never be better......MG

Havasu in March offers some of the best fishing for largies and smallies anywhere in the west. You got a shot at a record largie and smallie.

There will be some 20 pound smallie limits. You'll see.

While I agree that FLW is awesome and should be supported I don't agree that now is the time to base the status of the catgut on participation. The economy is in the pits right now. I've been laid off for six months now. Sold the boat, motorcycles and anything else somebody might buy to try and make ends meet and I'm still behind. While I would love to support this great organization it is definitely not and the cards right now for me and a lot of other people. This is not a dish on you Rick or anybody else for that matter. Just a statement of fact that hopefully FLW will recognize. Brutal times is not the word. Good luck to all fishing and I truly hope there is a great turnout

Cant fault you what so ever. Remember, I am biased towards seeing this trail go on. But so should all the anglers, tackle shops, tackle mfg's, motels, and businesses that rely on Tournament fishing to keep the doors open. The list I recieved from FLW on who is NOT sign'd up that have fished in the past is huge, including some of the major players that have supported this trail since its start. Now on that list were some folks that I know are going to pay this week, so all is not doom and gloom. But full fields are what the are looking for, so if you are on the fence, now is the time to give it a shot while they are still here. Rick G.

Rick Grover and Anglers Marine are so supportive of Flw that he's even letting his Sales Manager (ME) and one of his Salesmen (Joe Uribe) fish this event on top of a Boatshow (Rick did I mention we'll be gone for 7 but hopefully we make the cut so it might be 8 days :D )

Times are definitely tough I know we've kind of mentioned that already but when times do bounce back what circuit will we have that'll give us the exposure and the opportunity to fish for this kind of money. By the way if you haven't paid attention to the payouts for the Pro side....................you get 2 1/2 times your money back in 50th place. Are you kidding me!!!! $10,000 for 50th Place!!!

Thanks John. Was there a couple of weeks ago and fishing was fun. I'm sure it's only gotten better.
