The Presidents Insight....

Post by Bass Attack »

These are President Obama's words....

""In America, there's a failure to appreciate Europe's leading role in the world. Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America's showed arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.

"But in Europe, there is an anti-Americanism that is at once casual but can also be insidious. Instead of recognizing the good that America so often does in the world, there have been times where Europeans choose to blame America for much of what's bad."

I think he's right on the mark. Let's think about what he said...First Europe does have a dynamic union...Their system works....does it work better than ours? Sometimes yes, sometimes no....We are not right all the time and either are they....Over the past 8 years have we been arrogant, dismissive and derisive toward Europe?....Yes we have....It wasn't that long ago when Bush administration officials referred to some of Europe's leading nations as being "old Europe"....Now I know some of the folks on these boards have a really short memory, but let me help you guys out....Those European countries are our allies, so why not work hand in hand with them for a positive outcome for everyone.

I might even take Obama's comments a step farther and ask why some Americans, particularly conservatives, are so hostile toward other nations....even our own allies.

Having made his statement about the U.S., Obama went on and turned his attention to the conduct of European's.

"there is an anti-Americanism that is at once casual but can also be insidious. Instead of recognizing the good that America so often does in the world, there have been times where Europeans choose to blame America for much of what's bad."

This statement is very true. We do more good things than any other nation and I think it is great that the president pointed that out....Don't paint us as great and god like, or completely evil...We do a lot of good and some bad...Let's work together and increase the good, while decreasing the bad....Sounds like a win win situation to me and it is the sort of foreign policy that I voted for.....

There is a small group of folks on these boards and in society in general that have a totally hostile attitude toward the president and will find fault with anything he does...Speaking objectively, I think he is doing a fine job and the best job under the challenging circumstances he inherited from the last administration. I've been talking to sales people, construction people and real estate people and the economy does seem to be perking up....The bridges with our allies are being rebuilt and I think the future looks bright.....I know there will be folks screaming when they read this post, but I don't care...They are America hating dividers and the leadership they chose back in 2000 came close to destroying this great nation....All we get from the conservatives is war, negativity, corruption, greed, division, the inability to take responsibility and a complete lack of compassion.....

I truly hope the conservative movement continues traveling down it's present course and dies a slow suffocating death....I wish this on the conservative movement, because of all the damage it has caused to both the American economy and our standing in the world.....Over the past 3 decades....

I wish I could share your enthusiasm but I am way too fiscally conservative to go along with BHO's plan. The conservative movement will not die a slow death, it will gain momentum as more and more people start to realize that they have been duped by this guy. If he isnt reined in, it will be America that dies a slow death.

As far as BHO's comments in Europe... who cares! Every time he opens his mouth (without a teleprompter) BHO shows how much disdain he has for the country he is supposedly representing. I have never been one for conspiracy's but compare the history of Germany to what is happening here today. It concerns me that he "bought" the election, it concerns me that his cabinet members dont pay taxes, it concerns me that the government now controls the banking industry, the auto industry, and soon the major newspapers, it concerns me that there is very little opposition to BHO in the media. With all of those concerns, and more, his comments in Europe seem trivial.

Now, before you go on the attack Bass Attack, think about this... you NEED me on the other side of the fence, just as we NEEDED you when Bush was in office. I cant think of anything more dangerous than a politician with no opposition.

Remember Germany?
CHANGE is not a destination, and HOPE is not a strategy!

There is a Rasmussen poll,

That states 54% of Americans believe it would be better for the world if Europe became more like the United States and only 22% had the opposite view – you “Wife of Ronâ€
