Crappie/ Blue gill fishing
Crappie/ Blue gill fishing
Taking my 3 and 4 year old boys crappie/blue gill fishing for the first time next week. I only know how to bass fish, never been crappie fishing, so its going to be the blind teaching the blind. Went to Bass pro shops in Manteca and bought all the gear we need to crappie/blue gill fish. Launching out of Holland track............. NOW WHAT? Where do these little fishes like to hang out? Flats, deep water, tules, any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Re: Crappie/ Blue gill fishing
crappie are not real easy to find and catch.
best bet is to target bluegill with #10 hooks and red worms under a bobber or with a small split shot.
you should find them around docks. just flip into the dock area and if your not bit in one minute move.
they will also be right on the rocks.

I took my nephew bluegill fishing last week and he had a blast.
put a small piece of worm on a small hook and wait for that nibble.
bluegill are everywhere in the delta, you should have no problem.
