Just returned from my first ever trip to Havasu. Never fished that lake and haven't much frog fishing experience but had a lot of fun. Water was very warm 86 degrees but fish seemed more than willing to cooperate. I used a brown colored frog exclusively and averaged 3-6 hits/hookups everytime out which was about 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening. Too hot the rest of the time. I thought this was pretty good considering the heat. Dont ask me how many I actually boated as it would be embarrassing. Didnt see much in the way of mats so I just worked the shoreline bushes and tule edges as I would any other topwater bait. The fish seemed surprising good sized and healthy compared to what I have experienced on the river and at Lake Mead in the past. They also seem to blast the frog pretty hard which is exciting. We fished out of Black Meadow and I mostly fished the lower half of the lake from Bill Williams down to Copper Canyon area mostly Arizona side. All in all a good time and I think I will go back in Sept when it cools off.
ps-I was advised to try Whipple Bay but Im not sure if I ever found it. Where is it?

Re: Just back from Havasu
Very good report, but just one small thing...it does not cool off there in September! Mid October might be a better idea...
Re: Just back from Havasu
Good point Terry. Mid-october it will be. I knew that......think the heat from the weekend just slowed my brain down a little.
