Lowrance/Humminbird transfer

Post by mark poulson »

Anyone here know if the waypoints and mapping data from my Lowrance X15 MT can be transfered to a 997 SI, and how to do it?

Humminbird has an unofficial forum. Google humminbird forum and it will come up, there are humminbird techs that can probably tell you how to do it on there and it is a very cool site.

You can, using something like GPS Babel to export and Humminbird PC or Navionics Hotmaps Explorer to import... you'll lose some of the extended attributes such as your icons, but it does work to save your valuable navigation data.

Seen your name as you posted at Unofficial Humminbird Forums

I think you can use this program -

Thanks Roger and ScottH.
I'm going to look into the Babel thing.
I'll let you know how it goes.
One question that maybe you guys can answer.
Does the software let you tranfer waypoints only, or can you transfer actual map data?
My 997 map of Lopez is primative compared to the Lowrance map.

Mark,

It will only transfer your navigation data - waypoints, tracks and routes.

If you haven't already, you should check out the Navionics Platinum map chip... incredible for the 3D lakes, and very functional for those which aren't. You should come up North for a demo! :D

Roger,
I'll look into the map, now that I'm finally working again (wahoo!!!).
Thanks for the invitation. My sister lives in Richmond. Next time I visit her, I'll definately take you up on it.
