Amador Bass Bite?

We decided on Amador for our camping trip and getting ready to leave just woundering if anyone has fished it recently ? the guy at the marina said the bass bite was good, tips?

The guy at the marina will never say the bite is bad! Not good for business.

Drop shot Aarons Magic worms. Brush hogs also work well.

Day bite has been slow for me with a good night bite. Main points, Carson arm main point, main point splitting mountian springs and doney bay have good fish on them. Small pockets on the west side of the lake have alot of schoolers chasing shad and bluegill. Brown purple jigs 10 to 35 ft, DD22 in black splat and lav shad, and of course drop shot for daytime. Good night bite on black red flake brush hogs and 1/2 oz persuader black gold rush buzzbait. buzz bait also working good in the evening and poppers working in the morning! Good luck Dom!

Not sure if the lake has turned over or not, but two weekends ago was the moonlighter tournament. Full moon 2 weigh ins 12 hour tourney and the fishing was horrible. The fish were suspended in the thermal climb at 20-22 feet in 40 feet of water and would not eat. First weigh top weight was a 5 fish limit for a little over 9 pounds, and they said they only got 7 bites in 6 hours.

I fished it and had 6 bites landed two fish in the first weigh in, not reall good. We threw top water in the evening, jigs, senkos worms at night. Got one on a jnig in 30 feet and one on a worm in 30 feet. We did lose one big fish on a crankbait, I still don't know how they come unbuttoned. Anyways, it has been tough up there, just fish slow and hopefully you will find them...

Tough bite, not worth the entry right now. But if your camping I guess it will work. Bring the frog.

Thank everyone for the info, we just got home this morning we cut the trip short and not very happy with the marina owners they are liars! the lake was way more then 30' down it was more like 60' the bite was not red hot it was non exsisting, not one fish in two days/nights they are all suspended in 19-25' of water we threw the kitchen sink at em and nothing!

On top of that we ran out of Corona at the camp site!! So headed to the marina will not sell Bottles and they want 14.00 for a six pack of bud in the cans Cigs are 6.75 a pack I bought a latern which should have came with one pack of mantals they took em out of the box and sold me a pair for 3.75 on top of the 33.00 bucks for the latern,Ice 3.75 a 7 lb bag! 60.00 bucks for 2 nights camping and boat plus charged my sister and brothern law the same even though they were staying out our big camp site !

I like amador in the spring and by all means make your money but to tell a bold face lie just to get us up there and still charge an arm and a leg is WRONG ! I will not go back and word of mouth goes a long way!

Anyway just thought I would warn yall we are now headed to the delta to catch some fish

I agree, the place seems to just keep raising the prices on everything. With the tough bite and rough road its not worth $5.00

This year has definately been harder out there. Not sure if it has something to do with how low it got last year. By far the lowest I've ever seen it. Or maybe its the Salmon sized Trout they plant eating all the damn food in the lake. I have caught the trout out there on just about every bait I've thrown other than swimbaits. I agree though...its definately over priced. At least they lowered the price this summer to get some bass fisherman business.
