Idiots on the water

Post by WishinIwerFishin »

I almost never go out on the weekend just to avoid all the retarded boat operators on the delta but sometimes it doesnt matter. I was out at big break yesterday and this guy in a white and red ranger was out there cruising around. When I first saw this a**hole I could tell he was new to his boat or just stupid because he was trying to go fast and he was trimmed all the way down, it was pretty funny looking at a bass boat trying to do a nose dive at 40. Then out of no where he comes straight toward me while I was fishing the right side point of the opening of dutch slough where the pilings are, I was about 15-20 feet from the pilings casting to the tullies and he is heading directly at my boat at about 35 or so. Well about 25-30' from me he backed off the throttle and I thought he was going to go to the outside of me when this jerk drives right in front of me where I was casting and idles by and nods like he was being curtious. Well all I have to say is he is lucky I was hung over and my cousin has a broken hand or him and his partner would have been real un happy. I would expect this from a ski boat because they dont care most of the time anyway but to get this from a fellow bass fisherman, c'mon. I know I don't own the water but to drive right in front of me where there is a whole river to go around me in is rediculous. I dont post every time some idiot pisses me off on the water but I wanted to let this guy know that I remember what he looks like and his boat, it was 2 asian guys in a red and white ranger. I was in a blue and silver Javelin with no stickers or decals on it, with two white boys in it. If you are the idiot that did this then learn some boaters etiquette and don't launch at big break or holland if you don't want to hear what I have to say.

Definitely a fighting situation for me and been there done that. They were probably dumb as a sack of hammers and clueless about fishing etiquette but they would have got an ear full.

Idiots come in every color. I wonder if they thought you were a friend and just screwing with you, that's all I could think of causing that behavior. And of course they would be too ashamed to apologize if that was the case, as then they would look like the idiots they ended up being anyways.

Sorry to hear two fellow human beings had you know what for brains. Just be glad only one person in a thousand are retarded I guess.

I doubt they thought we were friends because after they went past us they drove right next to another boat that was fishing the big rocks on the left side of dutch. I thought they were friends of the other guys also but when they just did a drive by on them too I figured they were just trying to show off the new boat. They didnt go infront of the other boat but they came close enough that both the guys on the other boat turned to look at them.

I have had some bad luck lately on the water. I went out sunday after hearing my bud whine about never getting out. We launched at holland and wereon our way back to the ramp about to go around a left hand turn when a ski boat comes around on the outside and goes farther out as I try to go around him forcing me to take the inside of the turn. Then a bass boat comes around the turn on the inside, so they were coming double wide around a blind turn at full speed. I had to pull all the way over to the tullies to let them pass, Then both boat operators looked at me like I was the idiot.

I'm with MN on this one. Maybe when they got that close it might have been an option to ask them if the boat was new for them. Kind of give the guy a heads up about his trim on plane and his approach towards other boats. I'm a firm believer that a little communication goes a long way. I'll talk to everyone when I'm out there. Jet skiers, water skiers, pleasure craft, fishermen; I pretty much talk to them all OR I just keep my head down and go fishing and don't let anyone take away from my day on the water. And if you start off the conversation with a smile and a, "Hey, how you doin?", it's even more effective.

your comment could had been done without the comment asian. I have seen whites and other race do the same thing So the part where you put ASIAN reflects type casting on asians .
All the time i'm out there fishin and all those wake boards and ski boat go by( close) to you 99% of them are not asians. So you can see there's other a$$$$$ out there beside asians and we are not all MEAT HUNTERS.

I happens on all lakes and have all kinds do it not just wakeboarders or bass boats. I had wakeoarders out by us last night and had the whole lake open just before dark but they insisted on staying real close to us fishing just making circles and comming close enough to wash water into my Skeeter on a couple of different occasions. People in Disco have been known to get a little to close with their cruisers as well.....fishwithron2, I do not think WishinIwerFishin said anything inappropriate, It seems to me he was just describing the boat and its occupants. Would it be a good description if there was an accident or a stolen boat and he told the police it was two guys? No a good description would be two asian men in a white ranger bass boat. Do not assume that all non-asian bass fisherman see asian fisherman as meat hunters. We all know that jerks come in all shapes and colors, so dont take the guys description of the jerks he encountered as something that it is not.

I was called out on this on another board, so I'll give you the same answer.

First off I made no racist comments at all in my post.

There are alot of all races out on the delta, and any one could be riding right next to me on my boat depending on who I take that day. I am just stating the facts nothing else. If I came off as being racist in any way I am sorry. I only stated the facts so that if the driver read this he would know I was talking to him.

So my question to you since you seam so defensive is, was it you?

Aso I never said a thing about "meat hunters" at all because I didn't see them catch anything so where did that even come from.

I also took your reference of the race of the other two individuals as a statement to stir things up, but not to the issue of itheir inconsiderate behavior but more to the issue of their race, otherwise, why mention their race and yours. It would have been more appropriate just to mention the facts without stating that your boat had no decals or other identifying stickers and you were two whites. If you notice, those that tend to cite an individuals race in any of the forum issues appears to have other hidden issues. I agree with what tony said as a more appropriate response. Yes, communication can really get your point across if done in a respectful manner. Perhaps they didn't know what is appropriate ettiquette on the waterways and you could have used that moment as a learning experience for them.

Don't assume everyone knows how to handle a bassboat or what is appropriate behvior if no one ever communicates with them.

Again I am going to dissagree with you and anyone who thinks I refrenced their race to disrespect anyone or "stir things up". So why dont you guys let it die? I even apologized for something I didnt do in my response to the first one who complained about it. I only stated the facts as they were. I personally think people get their feelings hurt too easily now days. I'm not like alot of people, when I say something it means exactly as it sounds/reads, there is no underlying message. I don't say things just to get a reaction out of people, unless they need their cage rattled. I come here to learn and help other is I can. Oh yeah, I like to buy and sell alot in the classifieds here and other boards so where would it get me to single out any person for a reason as simple as their ethnic background.

So if the rest of you guys saw a red ranger doing dumb stuff on the delta, you would warn others to look out for this boat with out saying the people in the boat were 8' tall samoans or had big tatooes on their faces or wore matching pink jackets?

I'll take him at his word unless , he does it on a reg basis.

Thank you Rod,
I could understand if every other post I made was singling out a certain race or being racist in any way. But thats not the case at all here. And I am not a new member so anyone who think otherwise can read any of my other posts on here or any other board and you will see just about all of them are constructive with a few jokes mixed in here and there.

Stating their race to me was the same as listing the color and make of their boat.... facts and nothing else.

You said nothin wrong and were right in your description. You were speaking on what you saw and what you dealt with, now we know what to look out for. Some will make it a race issue when really it is an experience issue. You have nothing to apologize for. tight lines!

i just had to comment on these ignorant clowns. u were not calling on asians calling them the offensive names. you said the race. im sick of these people thinking that it is racist to describe someone. there are a lot of people in rangers that are red and white or whatever the description was and it is useful to distinguish what they look like. Is the police racist when they give a criminal profile out on the news when they describe a hispanic 5'8 with whatever distinguishing characteristics. NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I am joining you. Last time I ever fun fish on a weekend during the summer. I don't even know were to begin but it all involved wake boats. Even when not towing the run right at you and force you into the tullies. They don't stay right when approaching. And try and cut you off when you want to go around. Running bow high plowing 4 foot waves down the middle of sloughs with nobody in tow going 10 mph with a armada of bass boats behind them that can't get bye turning the water brown. And to top it off I over heard a conversation between a bunch of them at orwood. All I can say is I don't understand how somebody that retarded can still be alive. If you factor in natural selection a few of those guys should have swallowed there own tongue out of just being stupid.

Excuse the spelling, I'm on a I phone.

for the last couple of weeks, I have been fishing way south, down by sugar cut...you have to trailer your boat over the DWR rock wall...but I have not seen 1 ski boat down there yet...and very few fishing boats as well....one way to enjoy the summer weather and avoid the idiots!!!

Lucky for them you were hung over? Sounds like a weak excuse to me. If it was really that big of a deal you should have handled it right then and there. Getting on here and whining and calling someone out in a forum is what's retarded. Before you make fun of how stupid someone is you should learn how to spell and realize that unhappy is one word.

You are weak....Your whole post was weak....Communication is key.....I was fishing a dock on the outside of LIL Mandy when this guy (looked Vietnamese) ran right infront of me almost running over my line and went right next to the dock I was fishing and dropped a line. I saw him coming and could not believe it. I tried talking to him but he didn't speak English i guess. I think he got the message because he left but never said a word. Funny thing is we started fishing the other side of the dock and we were maybe 20 of shore when he left he went between us and the bank almost running over our lines again. I yelled at him to go around he just waved. Some people are oblivious regardless of race. I have never had so many people cut in front of where I was fishing and come in on me on plane as Clearlake and they were all white.

a couple of weeks ago I was on Mclure and a Guy and his wife come over and start fishing the same water I was casting in. I'm pissed because its pretty rude...and he stays there and stays there . Then to add insult to injury a big houseboat comes over about 15 yards from me and anchors in....and this was all about a 100 yards from the S. Barrett launch ramp.

and don't start me the Tournament guys blasting through the houseboat section.
